I simulated Air India flight 213 from Delhi to Kathmandu in the Fenix, (flight time 1 hour 20) with the approach data loadable in the FMS with a Navigraph subscription. Hazy conditions in the Kathmandu basin upon arrival meant a very late visual break, with the missed approach track so complex it requires its own chart!

That’s weird - I literally just did this yesterday!
I’ve just started learning how to use approach charts… Less bumping into mountains when the weather’s bad
Thanks, il definently give that a try! I’ve been struggling to find approach plates for some of the airports I want to fly in to, so I might have to pick up a Navigraph subscription… Do they have all the approach charts worldwide?
I did a good one last night, didn’t have the approach chart for so I had to wing it a bit, approach runway 01 at BIAR Akureyri.
I came via waypoint GILTU then PEXIL, just skimming the tops of the mountains at 5000ft then turn down the valley onto the localiser. Flew in at sunset it was epic
Yep Navigraph is worldwide. Coupled with Simbrief for flight planning, it’s the ultimate IFR experience for flight simulation! If this is new to you- they have a good video that introduces thier services on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yq01tPexUOM
Thanks for the Paro and Akureyri suggestions! The RNP-Y approach at BIAR from the north looks pretty scenic too.
Next time I get some good uninterputed sim time, I’ve been meaning to try either the RNP AR 08 or 26 approaches into Innsbruck LOWI as well.
Thanks for the advice - subscribed to Navigraph and it’d already proving extremely useful! I was able to get charts for akureyri and tried a couple of different approaches, all in horrendous weather of course.
Tried your recommended approach to Queens Town… Incredible! Can’t believe I’ve never flown in NZ before, the scenery is out of this world
I need your help because I don’t know what to do.
I have done this flight with fenix, fbw and iniA320 and each time I fail to get the flight plan to look exactly the same!
There is no possibility to land on the rw20 RNP from the east. I have made a flight from VEBD to VNKT. The MCDU does not show me this (I have the current AIRAC) and when I fly a simbrief flight and the last point is KIMTI or IGRIS and I select RNAV 20, it automatically connects it to KT421 and does not make the 360 degree turn. And when I enter the points manually, it doesn’t fly a nice 360 degree turn, but bends directly to the left like a right angle.
What am I doing wrong? Or what do I have to do to make it work?
Do you have a Navigraph nav-data subscription? Certain approaches such as the VNKT RNP-AR 20 might be missing from the default FS nav data, and won’t be selectable from your FMS.
It’s done.
I made a mistake in my thinking and forgot to select IGRIS via VIA as a transition.
Now everything works and I can do the approach as normal.
Thanks again
