I gave up on DFW months and months ago. I won’t even fly to that airport at all it’s so bad. The uneven textures are all over the place, and having to reset the sim is too big of a PIA for me. I am hoping this gets fixed, but not counting on it. What we really need is a good scenery developer to design a custom DFW. We need it so bad, and as one the USA’s busiest airports, not to mention the headquarters for the largest airline in the USA it’s crazy we don’t have a good DFW.

After reading a bit through this topic I wanted to see what was happening around Dallas/Ft Worth area. I’ve tried three times to load into DFW or Airborne above downtown Dallas. Each time the Sim never loads past 3/4 on the loading bar.
Xbox series X. No airport addons. Was trying to load in Cowan H125, MD500 and the Bell 407. Will try a fixed wing later just to see…

If this is the Asobo Team’s idea of what a bespoke airport is supposed to be, please do us a favor and either test before you roll it out or just stop. I’ve uninstalled KDFW from the WU package and installed a free version from FLightSim.to.

It’s frustrating that this bug has existed for so long and we don’t have a fix yet, it’s not like it’s side content or anything like that.
It’s a busy international airport in a flight simulator, it’s a core issue that should be getting a lot of focus from the team so the issue can be solved.
There shouldn’t be a bespoke airport that’s completely unusable for over a year, is there any way to get more eyes on this issue and finally just get it solved?
A lot of us here have been extremely patient and haven’t had a usable major airport for over a year, asking us to disable a core feature to make the airport usable is not acceptable. I understand it’s a temporary work around until it’s fixed but again, this issue has been present and reported here for YEARS and we only now just got an acknowledgment with a temporary work ground issue that involves disabling a feature that’s core to the visual experience of the game.
It’s just so frustrating, the fact that this has been discussed, reported, easily reproducible, and followed up on by the community for years with no fix feels really bad.

Just checking if you tried the solution above? Uninstalling those 3d cities update fixed DFW for me and it’s perfectly usable.
DFW is advertised as a handcrafted airport. It should be a top priority for the development team to fix it, rather than having to delete a previous world update to fix it. This is a major hub, and I mainly fly airliners. Currently, the bumpy runways, taxiways, and bridges often lead to an aircraft crash, and the blurry textures make it look terrible. I don’t know all the intricacies of scenery development, but I’m confident they can fix this.

I understand that the team focuses on europe, but having one of the most important airports and airspaces in the world, not functioning remotely near decent, should become a priority to fix. I admit I have many regards to it as I did my PPL in Addison, which by the way is also unusable as well as the entire Airspace which contains more than 80 Airports. But the fact that it isnt even on their short to medium termn fixes and developments, just makes me more aware of how they are slowly leaving this sim to focus on 2024

Good job I found this thread, just tried loading a flight from here and got a CTD 3/4 way through loading. I thought maybe it was the aircraft so tried again in a default Cessna and this time it just hung loading at 1/4. I had to Ctrl, Alt, Del to come out of it.

The workaround is to delete the USA Photogrammetry on the content manager. This will allow you to have the Dallas/Fort Worth area useable again. Asobo / Microsoft need to look at their Photogrammetry layering.

Could a fix be a matter of creating a few “exclude” files that can flatten and unblur DFW without having to uninstall any of the city/world updates? I really hope Asobo makes it a priority to fix DFW, especially since it’s advertised as “hand-crafted”.

This is still happening. I just landed on 35R and the scenery was all messed up. I have no custom add-on’s for scenery. This needs to be fixed, especially when KDFW is a Deluxe airport that we paid extra to get.

Set up on runway KDFW , blurry runway and bumps still existing… Is a fix to issues at KDFW being worked on…
While waiting for the permanent fix, this is the workaround to get rid of that ground texture issue on KDFW.
