I’ve actually noticed quite few if any CTD’s in a while of any type, with the Kodiak being incredibly stable, even in MP. I don’t have the NXi installed though, but I don’t really need it for anything.
I found issues with toolbar pushback and AIG traffic installed, take one or the other out and no crashes, with both it was very likely to crash on load.
Also get the new WT NXI 12.0 update, it fixes the crashes completely on my end. Tested with toolbar pushback and AIG traffic models installed and no issues so far on PC.
Tried it again tonight, Xbox Series X, Garmin G1000nxi, Kodiak 100 with black exterior Tundra livery, cold and dark in a small regional airport, no flight plan loaded. Used the Garmin to load a flight plan into KMSP. No CTD. Once I leveled off, I was fiddling with the brightness and my main PFDs failed and I had to use the backup display to complete my flight. I don’t even know if I’m mad about it? It was kind of a cool challenge.
There was an NXI update on Xbox tonight that wasn’t there earlier today. I flew the Kodiak after installing it with no CTDs.
This happened to me once after the initial release. Not sure what caused it but like you I was messing with brightness and my panel lighting and then it happened. I ended up finding the closest airport and landing with my back up display. I was in IMC so it was challenging but not something I’d like to deal with again.
Last night I completed a great 40 min flight in the Kodiak using WT NXi on Xbox Series X. No issues at all, the topo map even worked! Not sure if this was just a lucky flight or whether the stability of Kodiak + NXi has actually been improved. I don’t think I was using the latest version of the NXi v0.12.0.
One problem though: I was uable to start a flight from cold and dark, this caused CTD when clicking fly.
I had this exact situation last night as well. Main PFDs froze. I was island hopping in the pacific, it was VFR so I flew a few legs like that to simulate trying to limp it to a maintenance base. On one of the ground stops it came back to life but only lasted for a few minutes and then froze again. Do we think this is SU9 related?
Have you updated the nxi to the version released yesterday?
I updated the new NXI on and SU9 Xbox knock on wood Kodiak has been stable so far.
Yesterday flew my ‘test’ route. KPDX to KAST low IFR. I have enchanted PDX airport. My practice is to test my planes in what I call my standard config. That means I will not change settings to accommodate a ‘special’ aircraft. (As an aside I hold both MS and Simworks responsible for the software issues) In the past the at best I could get two maybe three flights before CTD. Updated the NIX and SU9 Xbox S software.
My standard practice Check Weight and Balance. Set flight plan on world view. Departure KPDX Arrival KAST Low IFR Start Flight. On Runway Set Altimeter B. Set FLC Vert Speed (105k) Set Constraint Alt (in this case 7000). Set Check FLP. Set NAV. Set Heading.
Release Parking Brake. Apply Power. At 500ASL or airport boundary Engage AP.
What should happen is plane will fly the NAV plan I’ve entered both path and altitude.
on first flight all went as it should but at someplace around 4000 ft I opened the pilot side window and sadly plane over-stressed.
Back to start - all went well from start to finish. The only ‘problem’ was the display panels on the G1000 were no as bright and as detailed as I’d wish. For me it was a good flight but … still needs some work on the G1000 integration.

Sure could be - have done 3 or 4 longer flights sine and fiddled with the PFD brightness without seeing this issue again. Sounds like we both just kinda took it as a challenge to get her down safe ![]()
Done about 10 flights since SU9 with Kodiak and new NXI update perfect I have not had any issues with G1000 or CTD so far fingers crossed flight Carrie’s from 20 min of touch n goes to 3hr flight I have not taken it into heavy super heavy senery areas though MCI DEN COS OMA LWC ICT MHK
I get constant CTD with Kodiak 100 and I don’t have G1000 NXi installed
I m getting CTD and blue screen after install the kodiak 100, I made test with other aicraft ( TBM , caravan, pmdg 737) all of them: normal.
Try the basics first, clear rolling cache, fully quit the sim, reboot for a full fresh start. Really should do that after adding anything, including re-downloading something you took off and reinstalled.
Ive had issues with the Kodiak on Xbox ever since it came out. It causes the whole sim to CTD when loading into an airport with an addon %90 of the time. About 50/50 on Airports without addons. And the cargo version crashes just from looking around cargo area almost %100 of the time. Swapping out the Garmin systems make no difference for me.
I thought su10 beta might sort out the kodiak but no. I literally cannot go from cold and dark to takeoff without crashing. I mean how many years do we give them to fix this?!
Hi
I realise this is mainly about the Xbox but the PC version for me is crashing all the time now.
SWS are blaming NXi and DX12. I am running in DX11.
Irrespective of where or what the fault it - I would hope there would be a fix by now? It crashed all the way thru Beta and no indication on the SWS of a fix.
Thinking about getting both this and the float version when it comes out. Hope a solution will be incoming for you all soon.
Did the recent update provide any improvement to the Xbox version? SW thinks the Garmin but Its not the Garmin 1000 it crashed with and without it. And the cargo version is worse than the passenger version.
