More than half of the questions raised in every Q&A can be easily googled, because they are things which get discussed on a regular basis.
The CM team need to learn which questions are actually important to the community as a whole, which questions are not just a rehash of the previous question, and which questions can not be answered with a simple google search.
I am probably far from alone in watching the Q&As and answering a large portion of the questions before Jayne even finishes asking them. Because I have spent more than 5 minutes looking the answers up myself instead of using up valuable Q&A time with them.
I think best case scenario is that they announce a firm timeline for releasing an SU1 Beta to the community. If not today, then itās a must for the next live stream.
That would be nice, but donāt hold your breath waiting on it. They have their patch and comms cadence and its not shifting.
As to all the recent posts above - It really is amusing to see how many people insist that some dev should wander into the line of fire, make a remark that will be turned against them in the worst possible way, and somehow that will relieve all of the community angst⦠Come, on people.
They arenāt that dumb, and the community shouldnāt be either. They arenāt going to make promises because any failure will be weaponized against them.
I get that there is a raging hot bunch of people in this thread (some are obvious trolls and agents of chaos, others are more genuinely irriated (myself among that group). But making (fake) ultimatums, slamming your fist on the table and yelling isnāt going to get you what you want. Its also not going to harm MS even a tiny bit.
The only way for you to make a dent (with this company or any other) is stop being a sucker and buying on release day. If companies couldnāt count on a giant wave of hype driven sales on release day, they wouldnāt make ridiculous release day promises, or throw products into the world unfinished.
But weāre all guilty of setting up a gaming economy where that tactic works for the companies, and no matter how many times the consumers get burned, we still stand in line like 100,000 complete idiots and fall for it every time.
Look no further than your wallet for the answer to this problem. Stop giving them money in pre-release and day one sales. Make these companies prove they have a product worthy of your money before you spend it. Angry typing and raging on and on is a waste of everyoneās time.
This is fine for now, but I would worry if I was in charge of MSFS. I would very much worry if this trend continues in May or June of 2025.
Edit: should mention that if this can be considered a representative picture. I know steam is not the only platform where it is available, itās possibly the smallest platform for MSFS sales number wise.
2024 isnt gonna top 2020.regardless. Simmers have too much invested in 3rd party add ons for 2020. Once the 2024 marketplace opens up , you should see the 2024 trend increase.
Would anyone believe they would release a half baked, bug ridden sim after marketing it for months and months as the closest thing to reality? No⦠but stranger things have happened, right?
Those of us who are legit concerned are concerned because we see all the bugs they DIDNāT fix in 2020⦠so no offense, but MS/Asobo arenāt getting much credibility lately.
I suspect that rather than focusing on the threads and threads of complaints on the forums, the team are basing their strategy on the usage metrics they see. Jorg will be answering to āhigher upsā and Iām sure that they see MSFS 2024 as a success albeit with āsome teething issuesā. People will be doing missions on career mode, 90% of users wonāt be bothering to complain and will fire up MSFS for 30 mins here and there, get bored and then play something else - and thatās fineā¦
I think the sooner we as a community here on the forum realise that we donāt really matter that much the better off weāll be - it serves no purpose to get so riled up with one another on a text forum while the real problem solving is going on in a building somewhere across the world and is focused on the priority of ensuring MSFS isnāt a financial disaster. Your low textures = less bandwidth = less financial burden = low priorityā¦
Weāre on a rollercoaster ride at this point - we just donāt know where the track leads or how long itāll last. We canāt go back, and they have our money. Weāre tied to the cloud.
Might as well strap in and deal with whatever comes next.
The regular weekly Development Update Blog will be published later today as scheduled. We were on hiatus for the past two weeks as many of our team members were enjoying the holiday break and spending time with their families, but weāre back to our normal schedule now.
