Lack of Communication from Microsoft and Asobo

We let them do their work and we got a broken sim at release. When they released updates they broke things that were working fine before.
Was it unrealistic to expect the sim to be finished at release so we get our moneys worth?

You think it’s unrealistic to get a simple list with of the bugs they are working on and their status so we actually know what to expect. If that’s to difficult for them how can we expect them to actually fix anything if a simple list is to complicated?

At least this is factual. You have no idea of what is going on either.

The lack of communication since early December suggests Jorge is not exactly reading the room.
Perhaps if they could indicate some - or even any - sense of urgency that might break what is becoming a deafening silence?

I think history has shown us that expecting a list of whats being worked on and its status is definitely unrealistic. They arent going to do it, other than the format theyve used since 2020.

I also know that from experience, expecting 2024 to be bug free is very unrealistic. Anyone thinking otherwise hasnt been paying attention since 2020 was released.

As far as ranting about issues making MS behave differently or bow to pressure from a sim community, I never seen them do it, so I believe its unrealistic to expect otherwise.

I do know one thing about human behavior though. If I was on the MSFS team, the last place Id spend time would be on a thread like this one.

Im not defending how 2024 was released. I just understand how this gets handled from a business and development standpoint. Theyve communicated that they understand there are problems and are working to handle the issues. You, me and everyone else have zero choice but to accept that and wait. I get thats not good enough for some, but there is zero recourse. What are you goijg to do? Refuse to play? Theyve got your money already. Sue them? Good luck with that.

So that leaves few options. Rant and rave on a forum…or wait…or both. The 1st is just a miserable way to spend ones energy in my opinion, especially since it will change nothing and not help achieve the result we all want, MS included.

The lack of communication might be because of a personnel shuffle.

I agree with OctupleElm15084 and no I am not defending the way the sim was released. Some are angry and others are not, that’s understandable.

I find it amusing people are still complaining about communication when we had some yesterday and will get more tomorrow with the blog update.

Finally, what happened in the past can not be changed so getting in a tizzy fit over it is a waste of energy. I am going to be looking forward to more development and bug fixes with the sim. And btw, many bugs have been logged which means the devs have been able to duplicate them.

All the negativity is causing this forum to be borderline toxic. I am going to remain positive and enjoy the sim. And Asobo has my full support.
MS…thats another story.

History also showed us that being quiet and just accepting things only makes everything worse in the long run.

I never said bug free but 600+ bugs is unacceptable. The problem isn’t just bugs but a lot of missing features.

The definetly aren’t here but the forum managers do report things to Asobo.

Just because something is business practice doesn’t mean people should just accept it. Just saying that they understand is not enough after the failure the sim still as after almost 2 months.

Public image matters a lot for them. As long as people complain about the abysmal state of the sim they know there won’t be as many new buyers as there would if we were all saying how good it is.

Ranting is how some people vent their anger. That doesn’t mean we are miserable. If you just roll over and accept it that’s your personality. Mine isn’t that way.

The results we want also won’t be achieved with defending MS/Asobo.

That’s a good point but it’s pure speculation like so many of the other posts on this forum which leads to more speculation and so on…lol

What kind of personnel shuffle are you imagining?

Well, there is only ONE group of people who can squelch the speculation.

You have proof of this?

There are bugs from 2020 that have been tagged bug logged that have been that way for a very long time.

The tags don’t mean anything other than face value, if even that.

Personally, I am sure bugs are being worked on. In fact some bugs were fixed before the latest patch but there wasn’t enough time to include those fixes. Not sure how that works but I thought I read somewhere Asobo needs to get certification from MS before releasing patches.

I know you are not happy about bugs that were not fixed in 2020 and I would be unhappy too especially if I had submitted those bug reports and they were ignored. On the other hand, not all bug reports were ignored.

I am interested to see what they have to say tomorrow. Let’s hope for something enlightening and positive.

I know they are working on the sim. (Well, I don’t really know, but let’s assume they are.)

My take was simply that we have no idea what they are working on and bug-logged is not an indication that they are working on a bug.

We have 2020 bugs that are marked bug-logged that are now in 2024.

Basically, we all have to sit and wait and see what they release to us – unless, of course, they break ranks and tell us ahead of time.

It’s unfortunate all the collateral damage that’s happened since November 19th.

I was cynical, didn’t buy into the marketing, so I’m unscathed. BUT …

A lot of people have gotten the shaft. Developers who missed out on the biggest sale time of the year. Customers who didn’t get anything near what was promised.

And people have been losing it - several cases where they have been accuses of being paid shills for competitors, others being forced to question how their hobby has become such a toxic source of frustration.

The sim should have been released 6 months from now. So what I’m suggesting is people take a mental health break, go do something else (2020 still works, explore other forms of gaming, or take time away from the keyboard). Do things that bring you joy.

The bugs aren’t going to be fixed any time soon, just like watching a kettle doesn’t make it boil any faster.

It’s a new year. Seize the opportunity take a break. Have some fun, relax. The bugs will still mostly be there next month no matter what you do.

…and you don’t own the product? Well alrighty then.

Nothing will change.

Tomorrow’s Blog Post will be the standard procedural show of numbers - and will not address any concerns at all about quality. If they do mention quality, it will be caged, minimized and dismissive, is my prediction.

The Dev Q&A will also be procedural. Jorg will say “we know things aren’t great but we hear you and we are working on it.” It will mean little. They’ve been asking for patience for too long, and unless behaviour changes, I’m out.

The only thing I want to hear is that there will be a new internal Quality Assurance team given the authority and resources to ensure all aspects of MSFS meet a standard of quality higher than exists now. Period.

“Early access” has been widely used in the gaming industry to give buyers access to the game before the public, but the game is finished or at least without major game breaking bugs.

What MSAsobo did was selling us an unpolished product that has so many blatant bugs that makes me think if there was a human behind the decision to release the “game” in this state, because if it was, theres only one conclusion: $$$$

[MODERATOR EDIT: Please do not ping team members.] If able can you just give the information that the white screen issue with the Inibuilds aircraft is under investigation or you guys have started to fix it and if so when it will be released, the issue is known to be occurring from past 2 weeks and its not fixed yet… for low end pcs or pcs who can’t affort to rendered at high or ultra configuration and also the XBOX SERIES S

Is this to avoid any legal consequences?

Think we’ve got no options? That’s where you’re wrong.
Microsoft had the nerve to ship this mess, so they can face the consequences. It’s not just about the money—it’s about trust. This disaster is wrecking their rep, and I’d love to see how much that’ll cost them in the end.
I’ve already canceled GamePass, Copilot and other MS services for me and my company, and I’ll warn anyone who asks me to steer clear of Microsoft, since they’ve once again shown they’re not worth our trust.
