ya it’s kinda ironic that the person who should be helping with coms is hurting it lmao would be helpful if we had some community managers who listened, instead of just banning comments they can’t answer or that get too close to some truth. Ignorance will get us no place.
Edit: The Kunos staff SHOWS honest comms and is at full speed. Two patches in less than one day
Kunos is the golden standard on how to respect your community.
Yes - I’m conscious of that.
There’s a few planes I’d hoped to buy while I was off at Christmas. Obviously ended up spending £0 (Xbox).
They did make a point of saying that only the top 24 most voted were shown. Meaning the list is not an exclusive list of bugs being worked on
That also isn’t entirely the case otherwise the bugs being fixed by SU1 would be the first 5 on the list.
It does make sense from their perspective to increase the priority of the highest voted bugs though, because highest voted = most people want this fixed.
More like, you bought a wrist watch for $200, it works, but doesn’t keep time, the hour hand goes the wrong way, it’s missing the winder and it randomly stops for no reason.
The midleading part is that the marketplace wasn’t disabled due to 3rd party’s having issues, but it just wasn’t ready. Same for the downloading of addons which was also promised and postponed. A few days before release aint really ‘not hiding’ while the pre-orders where 2 months earlier. Bugs and missing features is a big difference.
The discovery of bugs usually means the first encountered ones are jumped on by everyone. They may not reflect a true priority. They should do a poll to find out or something.
Prioritising on the ones that have the most votes may not be a true reflection of anything other than being commented on or being around the longest. I don’t know how many bug reports I’ve stumbled across that I didn’t know had been submitted. There isn’t an easy way to look, so they just disappear completely. Those with the most noise pop up on people’s feeds the most so have more votes. A bug discovered on Nov 20 2024 may not be a reflection of priority as one found last week, but it will have way more votes.
I do hope as you suggest they are working on more stuff for SU1 though.
When Jorg apologised about the botched launch, I took his comments at face value. I thought yeh, this guy has done the decent thing and acknowledged the issues.
Since then, I have grown disillusioned with him and Asobo. I have to revisit my assesment of them. I am not sure they can ever fix the SIM the way we all want.
Ultimately we will get a compromised 2024, and never a properly working sim. Shame, because Jorg and Asobo had a lot of credit in the bank after 2020. It’s all been wiped away.
And this is why the publisjed list os useless.
Thet ahoyld publish the list of bugs that they are working on.
From the top 24 only 3 are planned for SU1.
But there is no word on what else can be expected in SU1…
Not even in 3 years the items on the list will be fixed imo
Kunos has left you in the dust. AC Evo released yesterday. In the first 24h there have been 2 patches to fix issues. They were honest before release about what to expect. They have a roadmap for the whole early access program.
All of that from a company with 23 employees.
Maybe take inspiration from them and actually start working for the community and deliver what was promised.
- I got a refund
- I have game pass
- it’s free on game pass so won’t be paying for the extra stuff as my trust that 2024 will work soon as gone
I will use 2024, but not for a long time. Maybe when 2030 is out it will be as near finished.
to honest I’m surprised working wipers isn’t listed to be fixed before VR even has basic working interfaces, I guess 6 - 7 months is worth the wait for us poor unfortunate vr players.
Hopefully we’ll get more of an idea when the SU1 Beta comes out
Well there’s a good enough reason for not having a voting system to determine bugs fixing priority. Fixing the wipers will likely get 800 votes and fixing VR will get 250.
Voting os not a bad tool.
But it can never be the only measure for priorizing bugs.
Highest priority has to be bugs to the base sim. To key features.
Once the base is stable, they can go on an tackle bigs with the various aircraft, scenery and eye-candy based on popularity.
helpfully more info at the next dev stream too. if they go 2 for 2 dev streams post launch with minimal news with no dates & wasted time on special guests, then forget it. come back in 6 months
Whoever they have answering these posts on the forums are certainly not doing them any good or buying any goodwill.
Too whomever is responding in the blue text and signing as MSFS Team, you should know you come off as flippant, unapologetic and arrogant in your responses. Is that really how you want the community to see your team?
I do actually see some very good ones very capable handling software participating in this forum. Amazing long term work.
Personally I am here to solve issues, to fulfill an dream of mine.
Interest to learn, understand, in the complexity in aerodynamics.
Would love to see some tools available working, just as a hint to get things with a trick up.
I hope this will go forward.
