just for info, for those using ‘Addons Linker’, i think it can now also generate layout.json files from its UI without the 250 characters limits.

MSFS Layout Generator is what you need:
Works with both MSFS and FS24, it´s drag and drop and it works on any folder. This means you don´t need to face the long path names, as complilation is local to main addon folder. So you can copy your addon folder to a shorter path if required (e.g: your desktop instead of Community) and from there drag the layout.json file into the executable. Then you can move the updated addon folder back to Community.
The executable can be also placed anywhere, even at a completely different folder. Indeed the later is the best instead of keeping the executable inside the addon folder and packing it with the addon as many third party delelopers do, because this avoids that the executable itself is included in layout.json contents.
