Lionheart Creations Bellanca Super Viking released

Hello FlyerDreamer,

My oops. I wanted the male in the left seat and female in the right seat. If only we had public access to the aircraft config, these things could be modded. :frowning: Surely though, there is a work around.

In the mean time, your puppy can get in some stick time in the LH seat.

My apologies. I’ll see if maybe GotFriends might be able to make a option for times like this.

Hello @FlyerDreamerNJ , you can adjust which seat you want your dogs to be in according the JonX who runs GotFriends. See ‘Misc’ settings.

Looking great, Anna.

For PC users, people can modify anything in the aircraft.cfg by making a livery and adding the appropriate section (like the definition for the pilots and their animations). For it to affect the plane, it may have to be set up to be the first livery. This is done by making the directory name in SimObjects\Airplanes appear alphabetically first in the list of all packages associated with the plane.

Thanks @FlyingsCool5650 for the heads up on that.

Thanks @LyonHaart001 - it’s a trivial matter, I just thought it funny. On every other plane, the pilot avatar is in the left seat and copilot in the right. Something about the Viking is flipped somewhere, but it’s not worth fixing I think.

What would be nice would be to show the copilot while in the cockpit as is done with the Kodiak, DHC-2 Beaver, Milviz 310 and the 414AW. I wish I knew how they do that.

If you have 5 minutes:
Is this a user problem or is it a bug?

Well, except for the SIAI SF260

Anyone know of a way to change the color of the heading bug? It’s impossible to see in VR as it’s so dark. Yellow would be ideal.

Yes it is not right. I recently bought the Bellanca from the marketplace. At takeoff speed the nose of the aircraft buries its way into the runway. I’m not sure if that is due to the plane or the mandatory update that Microsoft released for the sim last week. Also the throttle seemed to be changing its settings on its own which again I’m not sure if its this plane or the mandatory update but the sim was rock solid before these two additions. Any advice appreciated.

The mandatory update last week was only navigation data. Nothing changed in the sim.
Yesterday’s update obviously is a huge update to the sim that may affect things.
The throttle changing on its own is likely a binding issue where you have two things bound to your throttle.

Thanks. I do have a Logitech throttle quadrant which is new. It was fine for about a week and then the throttle problems started. Maybe the Bellanca is being affected by my mods although again no other planes have been affected by the mods. This problem only occurs with the Bellanca. The throttle problem occurs in all planes when the throttle quadrant is attached but this tends to occur about 10 minutes into a flight.

Yes, I’d check all your bindings in your throttle quadrant, and make sure you haven’t bound two different throttle controls to it or something else. Make sure the throttle quadrant is your only controller. It may think you have another controller and it’s bound to your throttle, too. You can only have one device controlling any given control at a time. If you also have an Xbox controller or something else, and it’s bound to it, too, that’s what’s causing your throttle problem, and possibly the Bellanca diving or whatever it’s doing to you.

It’s possible I’m wrong on the update, too. For whatever reason, the devs love to overwrite our settings, and maybe it overwrote some other setting.

Also, make sure under flight model, you are using “Modern” setting. Never, ever use “Legacy”.

Pilot and Copilot seem to be swapped. Is there a way to correct this, may be a hidden clickspot? Nice plane though, well done and fun to fly with

it’s been that way from the start. Really looks funny when you have a Got Friends dog in the left seat. :joy: :joy: :joy:

Thank you so much. You were absolutely right on both counts. Somehow I had legacy flight mode for the Bellanca and my throttle quadrant was fighting with a keyboard binding.

Both are perfect now!

What a lovely little aircraft!

Hello,

The manual says that this is a NA engine and that it is possible to edit the config file to become a turbo version. Any idea how to do this?

Thank you!

Something I have noticed …MP remains at 30" to quite high altitude. This behaves like a turbo normalized aircraft, not NA. Meanwhile, mixture needs to be constantly reduced for altitude which is NA behavior. Quite an odd mix to me.
I really love this aircraft though…
