I enjoyed the yesterdays stream with twotonemurphy.
This AS33 is amazing in every detail, and in glider perspective truely study level.
Not only because its dynamics touches reality, but it will take quite some time to discover and learn all the details and systems that will come with it.
Despite the fact i haven’t flown it myself yet, i want to congratulate you with this fantastic new product!
What about the Discus-2c Standard Upgrade for MSFS 2024?
Happy Monday, everyone!
Another busy week ahead here at GotFriends! Here are some updates on upcoming projects

Glider News
Check out this awesome showcase of the new Discus 2C by Sim Soaring Club:
With the Discus 2C overhaul now released for both freeware and premium users, we’re shifting focus to the AS33. The team is hoping to wrap up beta testing on the AS33’s release candidate this week. Huge thanks to our 20 testers for all their hard work ensuring accuracy and a smooth rollout.
With feedback from real-world glider pilots and in-sim communities like Diamond Soaring, Sim Soaring Club, and We Sim Glide, we’re confident we’re crafting a stellar gliding experience—for both MSFS 2020 and 2024. The changelog is shrinking, and it looks we’re still on track.
For those unsure if gliding is for you, come check out our Freeware Discus 2C Standard. You can grab it on our website, and enjoy so much of this overhaul (including entirely new Avionics) entirely for free in both MSFS 2020 and 2024. The Discus is a phenomenal first step into sim gliding, simple, yet has much to offer as a platform to learn the basics prior to stepping into a flapped competition glider like the AS33Me. If you enjoy our experience, you can always choose to support the project later by grabbing the Premium version that has the FES Motor variant.

Aeroprakt A32 Vixxen News
A snapshot from Heavenbound Aviation’s custom MSFS 2024 flight sim setup:
Imagine walking into a flight school, having never touched an aircraft or a even heard of a flight simulator—this could be a student’s first taste of flight! That’s something we’re proud to contribute to.
One of my contacts at the school sent me this image showing how their setup with the A32 Vixxen is coming along. They’ve been putting the early build through its paces using a custom RealSimGear panel, giving students valuable avionics time while waiting for their turn in the real aircraft—or when it’s down for maintenance.

A rough first paint of N43539 in preparation for an in-sim build this week!
Our post-war Taylorcraft is starting to take shape. The exterior’s in a good place, and what you’re seeing is an early WIP coat of paint—mainly for lighting tests and some internal previews.
GotGravel is excited to dive into this one and give it the same attention our community expects from our bush aircraft. I’m working closely with Andy and the Heavenbound team (as we did on the A32), as well as Kevin Hopkins, an ArkanSTOL competitor who owns a BC12D.
Fun fact: Kevin’s friend and aircraft tech, Cameron, is also known as an announcer for the in-sim National ESTOL events. Small world!
I will be be starting interior modeling this week now that final livery work on the AS33Me is complete. Can’t wait to see this one fully in-sim soon.
That’s all for now!
I’ve been flying the CAS J3 a lot in MSFS 2024 and doing some shared cockpit flying via YourControls with a close friend from Emerald Scenery Design in MSFS 2020.
This week, we kick off a full month of soaring!
Thanks for reading—hope to see you in the virtual skies!

Friendly Reminder:
Flightsim.to Transfers
As many of you know, Got Friends was removed from the Flightsim.to platform back in 2023. That means our products are no longer sold there.
However, if you purchased one of our aircraft on Flightsim.to before our removal, you still have full access to those downloads—and that will remain true indefinitely.
Yes, we still push updates to Flightsim.to.
No, they’re not always instant due to their approval process.
If you’ve been using our website lately, you probably noticed that updates go live instantaneously, without needing approval. Because of that, we’ve seen some customers repurchase aircraft (Discus-2c Recently) that they already owned on Flightsim.to. We’ve been tracking those individuals as best as we can and have refunded those duplicate purchases—but we’d rather save you and us the trouble so this stops happening.
So, here’s the real point of this post:
If you previously bought a Got Friends aircraft on Flightsim.to and want access through our website or Contrail, we’ll set you up.
It’s not a “transfer” in the technical sense, but we’ll attach a duplicate license to your Got Friends account.
Here’s how:
- Email gotfriends.marketing@gmail.com
- Include your Got Friends Website account email you used during registration
- Attach proof of your Flightsim.to purchase (order number or screenshot of your purchase history)
This applies to:
- Gee Bee R3 Special
- Edgley Optica
- Discus-2c Premium
- Got Friends Year One Bundle
And if you are one of the individuals who did a duplicate purchase and don’t see a refund in the next 2-3 Business Days, please email us and we will get it sorted out.
In other news, Contrail also supports transfers from the Official In-Game Marketplace to their account holders as well. This may be something other customers are interested in, especially if you want faster access to future updates:

Thanks for reading—and thanks for your continued support.
Now go back up one post and read this exciting update by our talented 3D Modeler Mykrode!
Happy Flight Sim Expo Weekend, Everyone!
The GotFriends team hopes you’re all enjoying the latest Discus 2C Freeware and Premium update for MSFS 2020 / 2024!
We’re less than a week out from our July 1st release window for the AS33Me Glider. The release candidate is undergoing one last very detailed look from our beta testers to ensure it’s ready for you all regardles of which sim you plan on soaring at launch.
In other exciting news—today we got our very first in-sim build of the Taylorcraft BC12-D! That means GotGravel can now dive into early work on the flight model, cameras, contact points, and more. I’ve attached a few very early preview shots taken during a test flight over Alaska.
Wishing everyone an awesome Flight Sim Expo from our team, and an amazing weekend of soaring!
Cheers,
-Developer Mykrode-
The Taylorcraft looks absolutely stunning. Glad to see you pay homage to the bush flying history. I hope to see a Stinson at some point too.
We are very lucky to have amazing developers such as GotFriends working on gliders.
Thanks for bringing us these wonderful ships!

AS33Me Now Available on the In-Sim Marketplace!!
Just got word—the GotFriends AS33Me is now live on the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Marketplace, with the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 marketplace release coming shortly. The package is compatible with both simulators, and a free native 2024 upgrade is in the works and expected to release later this month for all users, no matter where they purchased.
Massive thanks to our amazing community and beta testers—this project wouldn’t have been possible without your support!

You can download the flight manuals for the AS33Me and the LXNav gliding computer here:
Getting Started with Gliding
For new glider pilots, we highly recommend selecting Self Launch before flight and trying our fully integrated winch system, built directly into the glider. To access it, click the SD Card on the LXNav Avionics bezel to load the interface. This is the quickest and most intuitive way to ensure a smooth and successful launch to altitude.
If you’re gliding on Xbox Series X|S for the first time, we suggest creating a simple custom weather preset to make learning thermal techniques easier. Start with the “Few Clouds” preset, increase the density of the lowest cloud layer to maximum, and add about 10 knots of wind coming from the direction you plan to fly. You can save this preset and use it to help build your confidence and skills in soaring.
Thanks again, everyone, for making this past month of soaring so incredible. Hope to see you up there in our digital skies!
