[LIST] Got Friends: Development Hangar

Best place to do Ravine Slalom flying - NE Africa

Aeroprakt Vixxen is more than fine. The controls are great. There’s one issue I can’t solve. I set custom views, and after changing them or resetting the view to its default position, the cockpit rapidly shifts horizontally back and forth once for less than a second. It just shakes violently when the view changes. It’s hard to describe, but it’s not engine vibration. Anyone else having the same problem?

GotFriends Q1 2026 Development Update

Well hot ■■■■, it’s been a minute since we updated you guys on how things are going!

Our team has been making slow but steady progress on the projects we have planned for 2026. The Taylorcraft is shaping up really nicely, and I wanted to share some photos with you all showcasing the variants being worked on (Floats, Bush, Skis, Classics), as well as some of the liveries planned.

We don’t have any concrete timelines, but we do anticipate sending this out to our closed beta team for testing the 2020 build this upcoming month of March, and collecting feedback while the 2024 native version is being worked on. From what we have seen and heard, it seems like the majority of our community has had enough time to move over to MSFS 2024 exclusively, which is phenomenal news. Our plan is to have the Taylorcraft supported for both sims, just to give the last few members of our 2020 community one last strong release. From there moving forward, however, we would really love to focus on one current generation of the sim. This way, we can make the best use of our time refining a project and deliver the ideas we’ve had, without being held back by the limitations of what we can and can’t support for both sims simultaneously.

The last couple years have been turbulent for many developers, ourselves included, but we want to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone in the community who has supported us flying both our freeware and payware aircraft! Its your dedication to aviation and flight simming that has kept us motivated, and your support on our payware addons that have kept our team afloat. We have updates in the works for both the AS33Me and A32 Vixxen, mostly consisting of some flight model refinements GotGravel has adjusted from real world pilot feedback, along with general minor bug fixes and QoL improvements based on your feedback.

As for the SuperGrravel… we know how much you guys are anticipating this one. I won’t share too much too early as to save the surprises & features for when we are 100% concrete on them. But we do have a lot of ambitions for this project to make it a flagship aircraft for GotFriends, similar to our PZL 104 Wilga. Many of which may very well only be possible in MSFS 2024, leveraging new modular systems (but hey, that may already be saying too much). In all seriousness, we only want to share what we have planned once we are certain we can make it happen. Till then though, so to not just share empty words, here are some WIP progress for you all to enjoy.

Thanks everyone. As always, keep up with us on our Discord to have the most up-to-date news on whats happening and get a sneak peek at stuff quicker for those times I forget to share them on the forums. Also thanks community member Timmm for reminding me to make this post!

Nice, thx for the update.

I fly the A32 for a while now and it’s in my top 3 favorite planes, alongside the PC21 and Visionjet
Happy :small_airplane:

Can’t wait to get my hands on the Taylorcraft! Thank you for the update!

Super-excited! Only Got Friends could convince me to buy another Cub-class airplane. But I know it’ll be so much fun from y’all. And those tundra tires, dang!

And since Asobo can’t seem to be bothered to fix the default Savage Cub in FS24 - even the fuel tanks didn’t work right last I checked - this will provide a nice alternative!

I moved to FS2024 exclusively back in November 2024. No need to muck around with two sims at the same time that do the same thing. So, bring it on! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I’m also one to enjoy watching the product grow as I use it, as frustrating as it may have been in the earliest of days. And it’s been fantastic to see GotFriends’ support of 2024 start strong and continue to be strong, with some of the best default aircraft in the sim at launch (the S12G, Optica, Draco X, Taurus M, and Savage Norden), updates of 2020-native products to work fantastically in 2024 (their Legacy Collection and Wilga are those that I own that now work as well in 2024 as any other), and now with incredible 2024-native offerings like their Aeroprakt and Crosskart.

It’s actions from developers like this that help move people into the sim just as much as core sim bug fixes and feature additions from Microsoft.

Dollar for dollar, the AS-33 is the best aircraft I have bought for flight simulator. Awesome plane. I can’t stop gliding, it’s really a great way to become a better pilot and quite addictive in MSFS 2024.

Start compiling a 1940s music playlist for when this thing drops!

This project started because our texture artist TwoSeventyInc has always had his heart set on the Taylorcraft. He’s passionate about bush planes but always felt the side by side seat configuration made for a better experience than tandem ever could. The BL65 and BC12D were the perfect choice, as it was one of the first aircraft that really kicked off prewar / postwar bushflying.

On a side note, I’ve personally had my heart set on a Stinsion 108, and hope if the T-craft is popular with the community so we may one day tackle that one too. If anyone knows a guy who has one… let me know!

I’m not familiar with the Taylorcraft, but I see floats, so I like it!

I’m super excited about your Taylorcraft, it looks fantastic =) A Stinson 108 would be awesome too!

as would a Stinson Reliant…

but these could also float

but the 108 would be more than welcome!

Yes! Buried deep in my logbook I have 0.2 in CF-OAZ, an SR-9E Reliant. Oh how I’d love that in the sim

I can’t match that - but I have built one up from a box of sticks once..

MSFSAddons x Got Friends
Captain’s Club Monthly Rewards Partner!

We are excited to announce that Got Friends is now an official monthly rewards partner of the MSFSAddons Captain’s Club.

Captain’s Club is a new membership program built to support the daily work of MSFSAddons while giving real value back to members. Subscribers receive partner discounts, a cleaner ad-light experience, access to Captain’s Scope micro-news, and most importantly, a rotating monthly Captain’s Gift from developers across the community.

Got Friends is proud to contribute to that monthly reward system and will be utilizing this service heavily for exclusive content, promotional givaways and early access to upcoming releases.

March Captain’s Gift:

This month, Captain’s Club members will receive Project Crosskart.

Crosskart is our physics-driven ground vehicle experience inside Microsoft Flight Simulator. It pushes the boundaries of what the sim can do and brings something completely different to your hangar. If you have never driven through a backcountry strip or across open terrain inside MSFS, this is your chance.

This partnership allows us to give back directly to the community while supporting independent flight sim media. Each month we will help deliver exclusive rewards, discounts, and special perks to Captain’s Club members.

If you want more value from the ecosystem while supporting MSFSAddons, Captain’s Club is worth a look.

Taylorcraft’s History is closely related to Piper. In fact the first Taylorcraft company was bought and became Piper and the Piper Cub is an improved early Taylorcraft.
In WW2 Piper and the second Taylorcraft company both built very similar liaison and observation aircraft (colloquially called “Grasshopper”) for the US Army. The Taylorcraft L-2 und the Piper L-3. Both with tandem seating and 65hp engine

will that be the BC-12-65 or BC-12-85?
