Both!

Standard and Ski gear will be 65HP
Bush and Float gear will be 85HP

Cheers

Is there any chance of Man’s best friend coming back for 2024? I would pay for this. Riding with a 4 legged passenger is so much better than a creepy person that blocks your window views.

Absolutely this!

I miss my cat sitting beside me in the Comanche.

At the moment, the MSFS 2024 character system is locked and we have not been able to successfully modify it.

Hopefully in the future we will be able to bring our “Avitars” over to the new sim. Figuring out the character system in MSFS 2020 took three years and hundreds of hours of reverse engineering.

The system in 2024 is far more complex. It uses generated characters with modular bases that include clothing, voices, body types, and a completely new spawning system.

Right now it is nearly impossible to build addons for. In the future we hope Asobo and Microsoft unlock more of the files in this system so we can figure out how to bring “Man’s Best Friend” forward to the new sim.

Thank you for the reply. I knew the SDK was different, but had no idea the passengers were locked down.

Also that they were so complex

Probably because of the career mode. And multiplayer? Are the avatars visible in multiplayer when you use the walkaround mode?

I don’t do walk around or career mode, but it would be hilarious if your dog did walk around with you and hiked his leg on the airplane

I want my cat to walk over and sit on my lap
or jump up on the panel cover in front of me when I’m landing (like he does when I’m simming

To experience what it’s like to sit in our Tcraft ahead of release..

I created a 360 cockpit panorama! Should work on PC / Mobile / VR.

Nice! I counted 68 rivets/fasteners visible from that view, though some were blocked by the belts. Still, will help in speeding my evaluation of the final plane.

Kidding. Super excited for this! Love more “classic” aircraft and that cockpit looks great. Man, between this and the Wilga, y’all sure make flying really slow aircraft seem attractive.

Looks good indeed, thanks for that 360° view :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Is there any kind of cockpit lights for flights at dusk/dawn, or is it some “day flight only” aircraft ? (my knowledge about the real-life counterpart of this addon is close to zero, as you can see  )

Love vintage GA, this looks excellent. Which airport was this? The views are stunning.

Taylorcraft BC-12D Showcase

We are excited to introduce a new technology we have been working hard on:
Gravity Reactive Motion!

These showcases focus purely on gravitational forces and minimal airflow. Right now, we are building a universal foundation for this custom physics engine. This base acts as the core layer that drives all real time motion for animations in the simulation. Think of it as a forces simulator running inside the flight simulator itself.

MSFS already provides data like gforces, speed, bank, pitch, pressure, RPM, angle of attack and more, but on their own those values are just numbers. What we are doing is taking those inputs, blending them together, layering additional custom injected logic on top, evaluating them frame by frame, and translating everything into full 6-axis motion. From there, we generate new outputs (Forces) that can directly drive animated components across the aircraft.

Phase 1 was focused on internal forces. That groundwork is largely complete. We are now moving into Phase 2, which brings in external forces such as airflow, prop wash, slip, wind, pressure differentials, altitude, and more. Once this phase is in place, we can extend the system to exterior components so they respond naturally to the full environment around the aircraft.

Phase 3 will be the final step either before or after release and as of right now it’s not set in stone. This should introduce dynamic upsets and light failure modeling. Hard landings may unlatch cowlings, aggressive maneuvers at high speed could force doors open, and similar behaviors. This phase will be optional for us, since it leans more into system realism than pure visual motion. Due to long development requirements, this may become an update item post-release as more products in the future implement this technology. Luckily, we are doing this right and building a universal foundation that can be implemented across all future projects.

The goal with this new physics engine is to build a strong, reusable foundation that can scale across all future projects. We are currently around Phase 1.5, and getting close to showcasing the level of visual fidelity that comes with full external flow integration of Phase 2.

We deeply appreciate the support and patience as we work on our various projects. We are excited to share more previews soon as we keep pushing this system to it’s limits.

Please enjoy the “Phase 1.5” previews below:

Cheers!

Reactive Motion: Phase 2 Complete!

Every Taylorcraft object on the exterior using our custom physics system now reacts to full airflow, propwash, slip, wind, and even object-to-object contact. Closed beta testing begins Monday, which means release is right around the corner!

Taylorcraft Enters Beta Testing

This afternoon, the team officially kicked off beta testing the 2020 version of our Taylorcraft BC12-D, with the final stretch of features getting worked on and locked in by developer Jonx & GotGravel. This beta build showcases custom hand propping, custom reactive motion physics, carb icing simulation, windmilling the prop to start in the event of engine out, and closer to final animations, as well as more refined textures and more in depth Wwise soundpack from TwoSeventyInc. All 4 variants (Standard, Bush, Float and Ski) are included to collect feedback on.

Once the project is feature complete and clears 2020 testing, we will swap our focus to 2024 native rebuild with support for the additional features exclusive to the new simulator. Still no timelines on a release to share just yet, but as always, we will make that call once our pilots and testers give us their seal of approval.

Cheers!

That red and white livery is sharp :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Yes! I’m ready!

Oh
hopefully were are not talking months here, because with a native version coming I have no use for FS2020 version. Or will this be a two for one kind of deal?
