Over the past few weeks I wanted to try something different.

Not just another aircraft trailer.
Not just another cinematic montage.

I wanted to tell a story about WHY Hangar Studios 713 exists in the first place.

A lot of people see the finished airplanes, the updates, the screenshots, the Marketplace releases… but they don’t really see the late nights, the coding, the testing, the coffee, the weird ideas scribbled together at 3AM, or the feeling of being a kid again imagining airplanes in a hangar.

That’s where this Toy Brick trailer came from.

The whole thing started as a simple experiment:
“What if I recreated the entire HS713 universe as a living Toy Brick world?”

And somehow it snowballed into this massive cinematic brickfilm project.

Every aircraft had to be re-imagined as physical Toy Brick models.
Every scene had to feel like a real miniature movie set.
Every light, reflection, workstation screen, airport shot, STOL landing, and hangar moment had to feel alive.

Even the opening scene was designed to tell a story:
the hangar asleep…
the screens glowing…
the developer quietly working upstairs…
the world slowly “coming online.”

Then the music kicks in and the whole Toy Brick universe wakes up.

What I love most is that it accidentally became a perfect representation of my company:
part aviation,
part simulator,
part imagination,
part controlled chaos :joy:

Honestly… this may be one of the most creatively fun projects I’ve ever made. (Two weeks of editing)

So before I drop the final trailer…
I just wanted to share the story behind WHY it exists.

Now…
welcome to the Toy Brick world of Hangar Studios 713.

Wow. I have no other words…

FlightSim Expo is this week, and unfortunately I won’t be able to make it this year. Over the years, this community has helped turn Hangar Studios 713 from a hobby into something I never imagined possible. Every purchase, review, screenshot, recommendation, and word of support has played a part in that journey. As a thank you, I’m running a FlightSim Expo Special through June 14. Buy one aircraft and get a second aircraft of equal or lesser value free. Simply use code BOGO (ALL CAPS) at checkout. Thank you for your support, and as always, I’ll see you in the skies. Newest Update 6-14-26

The Legend Returns

Some aircraft are built to haul cargo.

Some are built to travel.

Some are built to train.

The Turbine Legend was built for one thing… speed.

When I first discovered the Turbine Legend, I immediately knew it was different. It wasn’t just another experimental aircraft. It was one of the most ambitious homebuilt aircraft ever designed—a sleek carbon fiber machine with fighter-like lines, tandem seating, retractable landing gear, and turbine power.

Only around 28 Turbine Legends were ever completed, making it one of the rarest high-performance experimental aircraft ever built. Most simmers have never even heard of one, let alone had the opportunity to fly one.

That is exactly why I chose it.

Why the Turbine Legend?

I could have chosen another TBM.

I could have built another PC-12.

I could have gone with one of the dozens of aircraft already represented in the simulator.

But that’s never really been what Hangar Studios 713 is about.

I’ve always enjoyed bringing unique aircraft to Microsoft Flight Simulator—aircraft that many people have never experienced before. I want people to discover something new, learn its story, and have that moment where they think, “How have I never heard of this airplane?”

The Turbine Legend perfectly fits that philosophy.

It’s beautiful.

It’s rare.

It’s incredibly fast.

And with the Honeywell Garrett TPE331 powering it, it has a personality unlike almost any other turboprop.

Unlike the free-turbine PT6 found in aircraft like the TBM or PC-12, the TPE331 is a fixed-shaft engine. It delivers immediate throttle response, crisp power changes, and an aggressive feel that many pilots describe as being closer to flying a jet than a traditional turboprop.

That’s the experience I want to bring into Microsoft Flight Simulator.

My Vision

This isn’t intended to be a museum piece.

I’m not recreating one specific registration.

I’m building my vision of what the ultimate Turbine Legend could be.

A modernized, high-performance interpretation that remains faithful to the airplane’s incredible heritage while pushing it to its full potential inside Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

When it’s finished, I want this to become the aircraft you load when your only goal is to go fly.

Not because you have to.

Because you can’t wait to.

Built Exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024

This project marks a major milestone for Hangar Studios 713.

The Turbine Legend will be my very first aircraft developed exclusively for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.

There will be no compromises for legacy compatibility.

No limitations carried over from previous simulator generations.

This aircraft is being developed specifically around everything MSFS 2024 has to offer, allowing me to take advantage of the latest technologies and continue raising the level of realism, immersion, and performance.

Powerplant

At the heart of the aircraft is one of the most respected turboprop engines ever built.

Honeywell Garrett TPE331-10

Approximately 1,000 horsepower

Driving a constant-speed Hartzell propeller with full beta and reverse capability.

The TPE331’s fixed-shaft design provides incredibly responsive power delivery, making every throttle movement feel immediate and connected.

Target Performance

The numbers I’m targeting speak for themselves.

• Honeywell Garrett TPE331-10 turboprop

• Approximately 1,000 horsepower

• Constant-speed Hartzell propeller

• Full beta and reverse thrust

435 KIAS VNE

Maximum speeds approaching 500 MPH

Cruise speeds exceeding 370 KTAS

10,000+ feet per minute climb capability

35,000-foot service ceiling

• Full oxygen operations

• Fighter-like roll response

• Responsive handling

• Exceptional acceleration

• Short-field performance utilizing beta and reverse thrust

Every aspect of the flight model is being tuned to create an aircraft that feels alive from startup to shutdown.

Airframe

• Carbon fiber composite construction

• Tandem seating

• Retractable tricycle landing gear

• Low-wing configuration

• Sleek fighter-inspired canopy

• Approximately 25 feet 9 inches long

• Wingspan of 28 feet 6 inches

• Empty weight approximately 2,600 pounds

• Maximum gross weight approximately 4,100 pounds

The goal is simple.

Keep it light.

Keep it strong.

Keep it incredibly fast.

Cockpit

There will be one cockpit.

No multiple panel variants.

No analog option.

No compromises.

This aircraft is being built around a clean, modern glass cockpit that reflects how I believe this aircraft would be equipped today.

Included

• Garmin G3X Touch

• PMS50 GTN750

• Garmin G5 standby instrument

• Integrated autopilot

• Full engine monitoring

• Modern electrical system

• Oxygen system

• Wearable oxygen masks

• High-altitude capability

• Optimized ergonomics

I want every switch, every screen, and every interaction to feel intentional.

The Experience

Numbers alone don’t make an airplane memorable.

Personality does.

I want the Turbine Legend to make you smile from the moment the starter engages.

I want you to hear the turbine spool.

Feel the airplane surge forward.

Rotate.

Retract the gear.

Watch the VSI race skyward.

Level off at altitude.

Push the power lever forward one last time.

And realize you’re flying something unlike anything else currently available in Microsoft Flight Simulator.

Follow the Journey

Over the coming months I’ll be sharing everything that goes into creating this aircraft.

• 3D modeling

• Flight model development

• Engine tuning

• Avionics integration

• Systems programming

• Cockpit design

• Sound development

• Liveries

• Performance testing

• Behind-the-scenes development

• Community feedback

I want everyone to see exactly how this aircraft comes together—from the very first polygon to the final release.

As always, your feedback, ideas, and passion for aviation continue to inspire every project I create.

Thank you for being part of the journey.

Let’s build something legendary.

Development Update – Turbine Legend

Just a little preview to show everyone how the Turbine Legend is coming along.

Today I reached a major milestone by completing the exterior model, including the landing gear and gear doors. With the airframe now complete, development moves into the cockpit, systems integration, and bringing everything to life inside Microsoft Flight Simulator.

I’m also sharing a mock-up of the planned instrument panel to give everyone an idea of the direction I’m heading. Keep in mind this is an early concept and is not the finished cockpit. The final layout, switch placement, and details will continue to evolve throughout development.

Also worth noting, the pitot-static system and exterior lighting are still works in progress, so don’t be alarmed if you notice those are missing from the exterior screenshots.

It’s still early in development, but I’m excited with how the project is progressing and look forward to sharing more updates as the Turbine Legend continues to take shape.

Looks like a fun project! I owned a plane based at a NC airport where a guy was building one of these tucked in a hangar corner years ago. No idea if he ever finished it, but it sure looked cool and fast during the build just sitting there!

I enjoy most of your planes. I own your Twin Navion, Decathlon, and the Scout.

The Scout for some reason has an arbitrary pitch angle it apparently can’t pass, and then just like stays in the sky? I haven’t seen anything like it, and I own a ton of other add on planes. Your other models I own for example don’t have this issue.

And I realize this isn’t a “normal” part of the flight envelope for the Scout, but it just breaks the realism and simply knowing it exists makes me never want to fly it. Like it simply can’t complete a loop on the pitch axis, really weird and nothing I’ve seen on other planes.

So I ask, will the Legend be able to do a loop?

Development Update – Lots Happening Behind the Scenes!
I wanted to give everyone a proper update on what’s been happening around Hangar Studios 713. A lot of progress has been made, and several projects are moving forward.

Super Decathlon
The latest Super Decathlon update has officially been handed over for Marketplace ingestion. This update includes: Completely reworked autopilot logic. Improved Heading, NAV, and GPS functionality. New visual FX. For Xbox users, PMS50 GTN750 In-Game Panel Lite v2.2.64 with the latest improvements and compatibility updates. Now it’s in Microsoft’s hands. Now Available on my website - https://hangarstudios713.com & coming soon to ORBX

American Champion Scout
Next up is the American Champion Scout, and this update has grown well beyond what I originally planned. Current work includes: The same autopilot improvements from the Super Decathlon. Heading, NAV, and GPS compatibility across every Scout variant. The new Ski Variant with optional standard Scout wheels. A revised flight model that allows for limited aerobatic capability, including loops. 3D model refinements to both the 26" and 35" tire versions for improved stance and accuracy. There are also numerous smaller fixes and refinements throughout the aircraft.

Greg Koontz Sky Country Lodge (AL60)
Work is also progressing on my first scenery project, Greg Koontz’s Sky Country Lodge (AL60). The goal is to faithfully recreate Greg’s property, from the hangars and buildings to the surrounding landscape, capturing what makes this airport so unique. I’m focusing just as much on atmosphere as accuracy. Let’s just say… those who enjoy exploring every corner of an airport may find there’s more than meets the eye.

Turbine Legend
One of my favorite parts of aircraft development isn’t simply making an airplane fly—it’s creating a cockpit that feels like it belongs in a real aircraft. Over the past several months I’ve been designing the Turbine Legend cockpit around a Garmin G3X Touch, GTN750, G5 backup instrument, and now a dedicated RAM-mounted Electronic Flight Bag instead of the secondary display. It creates a cleaner, more realistic workflow while keeping the primary avionics focused on flying. Every switch, gauge, texture, animation, and system is being designed, modeled, programmed, and integrated by me. There isn’t a separate avionics, systems, or art team—just a lot of late nights bringing the aircraft to life. The next step is making every display, knob, switch, and touchscreen fully functional inside Microsoft Flight Simulator. It’s a challenging process, but seeing the Turbine Legend evolve from sketches into a living aircraft has made every hour worth it.

Thanks, as always, for your continued support and for following along on this journey.

SUPER DECATHLON – MARKETPLACE UPDATE

The Super Decathlon Version 1.6.0 is now officially available on the Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace for both PC and Xbox!

Along with the Super Decathlon update, Xbox users are also receiving the newest Version 2.2.64 release of the PMS50 GTN750 In-Game Panel LITE, bringing the latest PMS50 integration along with it.

As promised, my goal is to keep the Super Decathlon as up to date as possible, especially for those of you who purchased it because of the PMS50 GTN750 integration.

SUPER DECATHLON V1.6.0 CHANGES:

• Autopilot issues have been corrected, including Heading, NAV and GPS functionality
• New and updated visual FX
• G3X compatibility updates following MSFS 2024 SU5
• G3X dark-screen issues resolved
• GTN650 functionality improvements
• Minor performance, compatibility and general bug fixes

IMPORTANT FOR PMS50 GTN750 USERS:

If you own both versions of the PMS50 GTN750 In-Game Panel, please make sure you only have ONE version active at a time.

If one version is installed locally and another is being streamed through Marketplace content(Super Decathlon(XBOX Only)), having both active can potentially cause conflicts or unexpected behavior. Make sure one or the other is disabled.

Keeping the Super Decathlon current with changes to MSFS 2024, the G3X, and PMS50 integration will continue to be a priority.

If you already own the Super Decathlon, head over to the Marketplace and make sure you’re running Version 1.0.6.

Thanks again to everyone who continues to support Hangar Studios 713 and the Super Decathlon!

Looking forward to update,

I fly this every day, pc vr, but i wish the hobbs would not reset every flight and other persistence.
Would like dirt accumulation in future.

Still my favourite aircraft in the sim
