some airports don’t have a weather report, some do. Any airport I select it says I’m not connected. But the indication on the bottom says I am and my plane icon and information is working. I checked in the tools menu that connect to msfs is selected. I’m at a loss what has happened. It was fine yesterday. Also my friend from across the globe I fly with is seeing the same thing on their LNM. Can anyone help?
There are some limitations in what the sim is allowed to do with weather data.

Simulator weather cannot be shown for MSFS since SimConnect weather functions are deprecated and do not deliver data. Use NOAA weather which gives you the most up-to-date weather reports.
I see weather here. So either NOAA has/had an outage or maybe your preferences are off? You could check whether NOAA weather is supposed to be displayed:
