Big weather front of cloudy skies and rain over the UK right now - MSFS 2020 & 2024 few clouds and blue skies
Could be a difference in weather models. Checking cloud cover and precipitation over the UK with the MeteoBlue app right now (24 May at 1210Z).
With either the GFS or ICON global models selected, there is dense cloud cover and a large area of precip along the eastern side of the UK.
With the NEMSGLOBAL model selected (which is the model that MSFS uses), cloud cover is much less, and any precip is predicted to be farther east - mainly over Belgium and France.
Which of them is closest to the precipitation layer that’s being put out by the sim?
The sim uses NEMSGLOBAL so the cloud/preciptitation pattern shown in the MeteoBlue app with the NEMS model selected should approximate what is seen in MSFS.
Keeping in mind that the sim also uses real time METAR data and (I’m pretty sure) also uses real time satellite imagery to enhance the model cloud data. I’m positive, based on several tests I have performed, that satellite data is being used to enhance the model cloud coverage over North America - I don’t know if that is the case everywhere though.

[sigh] Live weather doesn’t match the real world in 2024 again. 
I thought it was just me yesterday, but luckily I still have MSFS2020 installed so was able to check and had exactly this, i.e. Rain and thunderstorm depicted in 2020 as per the METAR but no rain or thunder in MSFS2024. It’s disappointing that after all this time fundamentals like this are still broken in 2024
live weather does not match at all i don t know what Asobo doing . yesterday on live weather i was getting few clouds and was raining in real life , today , sunny few clouds in reality and FOG in the sim . lol
I had a great session yesterday in which a mesoscale convective system involved in spawning tornadoes irl was depicted in the time and space it should, delayed only by 30-60 minutes. You can watch it on the VOD from my stream, starts getting dicey at about the 3 hour mark, where I have to begin picking around storms that were displayed both on radar and visually. Unfortunately, it ended in a missed approach due to poor visibility in heavy rain and I had to end the stream abruptly to go do dad stuff.
My intent is to submit this as a positive bug report to show that in some places it is working. In these bug reports, I think it’s helpful to state where the observation was and where the user is (in general) as there is some evidence that live weather issues are regional. The weather/flight was in the north central US and I am also based in the US.
Live weather does match
Several sessions working very well.
The real-time weather seems to have an issue, starting from UTC0700
I can’t remember the exact time, maybe 2AM, but that is a problem that was reported years ago.
No live weather here in Europe too… Noticed at 06:00 UTC, still ongoing…MSFS 2020, my location is in Germany, no live weather at and enroute CYUL to LIRF. Windows 11 PC

Please can those of you reporting Live Weather issues this morning provide some further details, such as your sim (MSFS 2020 or 2024), platform (PC, Xbox etc.), as well as other potentially useful information such as what locations in the sim you’re noticing no Live Weather.

I confirm, I have the same MSFS2020 PC
The same problem (live weather not working) today.
I was worried that I did something wrong (as I got tired of 2024 and decided to get back to 2020 today), but regardless of airport I chose all wether is set to default. Everywhere in the world it’s “Wind calm, few clouds altimeter 29.92”
