Live Weather Does Not Match

My EFB isn’t working properly either now as it won’t sync properly

Same Not working today 17. Sep. at Hamburg Germany

live weather not working properly. Im in GErmany

Same. Inaccurate weather in LGW. Assuming old data. Shows 12C, should be 17C, winds and QNH also off.

Same here, always and anywhere 1013 hp clear sky 19 C° no wind. Xbox series X

yes I also noticed qnh is standard value 1013 everywhere

It’s more than a day this is been going on and still this issue. Other posts about this are getting closed by moderators before a blink of an eye so another problem that is over Asobo’s heads?

Hi @wingview,

We’re closing other threads on this topic just in order to try to keep things orderly on the forums. Normally when an outage like this occurs we get many users creating new threads without searching the forums to see if an already existing thread is in place.

I’m acutely aware of the timescale for this particular issue. I’m sorry I’m unable to share details as to specifically what took place to cause the Live Weather outage, however it was investigated as a matter of urgency yesterday and a fix is being worked on as I type this message!

I’ll make sure to keep our Online Services Monitoring page up to date as the status of this issue progresses, and will check back in on this thread later when I hear more about any potential resolutions.

Thanks for your patience, and apologies for any disruption this may have caused to your flights.

The MSFS Team

Hi folks,

A fix has been deployed that should hopefully resolve the issues experienced when using Live Weather in both MSFS (2020) and MSFS 2024 recently.

Please let me know if everything is working as normal now!

Thanks

It seems to be working now. MSFS2020, Win11, Germany. Thank you!

It’s working.

Currently not working for me again 23rd September around 1300 BST, just showing blue skies everywhere and no clouds on world map.

Edit: seems to be some conflict with REX Atmos Core

Welp.. Live weather sucks as always. Here at KSPI, which is my home airport, and this is the metar IRL

METAR KSPI 251952Z VRB05KT 10SM FEW060 25/10 A2995 RMK AO2 SLP139 T02500100

and this is what we get in the sim.

I live about 15 mins to the aiport and there are clouds everywhere… can you people at Asobo Give us better weather or the weather API so we can actually make this sim a sim, not a game.

It would appear that they don’t care at all about weather/clouds/turbulence etc.

Even the trailer for the PS launch of MSFS has absolutely awful clouds, just look completely unrealistic.

It’s so frustrating that such a crucial part for a flight simulator is completely ignored.

I fly with live weather/real time nearly exclusively, and find that in general it works pretty well. Occasionally it’s not very representative of the real state of affairs, but not very often in my experience of flying mainly in the UK and Europe. Just this afternoon I flew the CJ 4 from Manchester to Inverness as storm Amy swept across the country, visually it was pretty impressive, and the conditions I met enroute matched well with my Simbrief flight plan and airport Metar.

I do wish for more fine tuning of the weather, in cloud turbulence and icing for instance seems virtually non existant, making flight in adverse conditions much less risky than in reality.

Hello, it's still me giving feedback. It's just been a month now, and I've noticed that the weather seems to have crashed again

Hello, it’s still my feedback that the MFS2020 weather collapsed, and it’s been less than a month now

Please see the below message:

While I’m not at all surprised that FS gets weather wrong at times, it should be noted that the weather app on my IPhone often gets weather very wrong, showing fully cloudy when you look outside to bright sunshine. Weather is complicated and changing constantly and there simply is not enough data available to accurately predict other than major storm systems. Thunderstorms are notorious for just appearing and disappearing. I’m sure Asobo will fix whatever bugs they’ve discovered.

It seems like the weather servers have been going down quite often lately. The live weather feature is one of the key parts of MSFS, so it’s disappointing to see this happening so frequently.
