This is what we should have regarding weather apparently when i read the info about the ‘Game of the Year’ …

Well almost one month none of that… been flying since the release of MSFS and this is the worst experience since the beginning, give us back the feed prior SU7 (meteoblue without metar feed) and open your testing platform from there, this is getting pretty ridiculous
Is it even possible to have live-weather match real current world weather everywhere 100%? I don’t think METAR can fix that issue. They need to have scanner or something that scans the earth and sends that data into our sim in real time. METAR we say is more accurate. Is this description accurate for an example BKN “Broken” = 5–7 oktas How do we know if a weather is accurate with that type of description of the weather? If it’s clear sky in the sim and if the weather is 5-7 Oktas what makes us not be able to land if those not matching?
I think something like this will happen eventually, the Metaverse will require it … but that is also a ten year development plan so we may have to wait.
Sure but I reckon the satellite technology exists already and it’s mostly a matter of hooking it together and of course cost. MS might decide only to include it in the latter stages of development.
It wasn’t from release. Nothing came from METAR back then. I think it was included some updates after the release. I’m not sure when but it wasn’t in from realease that i’m sure of.
Maybe … I wasn’t around then thinking my then GT1030 wasn’t up to it which is of course right at normal resolutions but it was fine at 720p without clouds when I did join. SU5 gave me a 120% boost in performance so I will always defend it’s inclusion even though I now have a much better gpu.
Right, for me wind, pressure & temp was enought. Maybe include visibility but changing clouds i do not like at all. Especially not to increase performance. Then they should add sliders to decrease the density of those volumetric clouds to please those with older hardware.
Just took off from Mobile Downtown. In game METAR and ATIS indicate clouds, but none load. Only visibility (and that took about 5-10 minutes to display) and wind. ATIS pressure was 29.96 but tower pressure was standard 29.92. It looks like clouds and precip don’t load currently.
