HI there!
I’m wondering about that 225@3 bug. Encountered that yesterday, I’m not sure how to go round that bug.
Also very ■■■■■■ with all things related to weather.
The 225@3kts issue i can only see now when the servers are not running between 23:00z-00:12z. Nothing we can do about that than wait until 00:12z. At release it was there all the time in the sim.
I have noticed, that if you start the sim during that time, you get clear skies.
If I’ve already started my flight and am airborne before 2300z, I keep the current weather.
I’ve noticed this too recently, the depiction in the UK has been generally very inaccurate for me lately and it seems when I check Meteoblue it’s largely down to poor forecasting on their part.
Having just driven home from this Airfield after cancelling my IRL flight due to the Cloud base, I thought I would check out how the SIM represented it.
Every single Airfield that publishes METAR’s within a 50m raduis of this airfield reports OVC at between 1100 ft to 1900 ft, yet in the SIM I get this. The pressure reported from the closet airfield publishing a METAR to this matches up ok and so does the wind in both direction and strength but clear skies ??? so frustrating. Spawning at the airfields close by to the South West, North West and East that are reporting METARS and the result is exactly the same.
LOL how long did you wait, I have live weather take up to 10 min to kick in. Yesterday I was doing testing trying to get things back to normal, in the morning overcast and snow on the ground lake was frozen, a couple of hours later sunny no snow as I flew along for about 10 min all of a sudden the aircraft shakes violently and bammo now we have overcast snow on the ground and frozen lake again…
I haven’t seen an overcast depicted in the UK since SU7.
Currently at EGBB. Overcast shown on the world map, overcast shown in the metar, clear skies shown in the sim. This is so annoying.
Completely agree it has been like this for a quite a while now. It is a shame and concerning that MS/Asobo don’t seem to be acknowledging this as an ongoing issue.
I don’t particularly see what is funny about it, but each to their own !!
In answer to your question, I waited about 15 mins at each location I spawned at, as I am completely aware that on occasions the weather can take time to be generated (another bug by the way) and as a further check I switched the weather to a pre-set and back to Live.
LOL < this sim is funny to no end. Right now Im at a place I cant launch with PG on because the framerate wants to sit @5 fps. If I launch putter along, turn off pg…my fps jumps to 20+ … wait 5 mins or so switch PG back on and now were back at 20+ again steady… LOL???
Clear skies still at EGBB, this is however as far as I can see not a bug as such, but actually an issue with Meteoblue. Since SU7 they changed their Meteoblue data, and it seems for the UK it is now really bad at getting accurate predictions for cloud coverage. See below this chart from Meteoblue which states currently a cloud cover of only 3% (bottom left)
Live weather seems to be broken again, flying over Germany now at FL380, wind always 225/3 and clear skies.
Are you familiar with this?
Yes thank you I am familiar with this, its not relevant to what I was demonstrating here though.
Sadly another bug that was introduced in to the Live Weather system that is still to be fixed, as I understand it.
Dreary as hell and overcast here today and I got this earlier in UK in the south east.
Can someone tag xbox in the OP post as well, it’s not just PC that has all the issues.
Series X
Maybe they changed CB-clouds into clear sky over UK instead?
