ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: The live weather turns off by itself during a flight. The aircraft loses or gains a couple of hundred feet, and a significant wind shift occurs, the OAT changes.

Re-enabling the live weather helps change the weather again, but it will be disabled by itself again in a few minutes.

This has been happening on every flight since the SU3 update.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

  1. Create a new Free Flight

  2. Select an aircraft

  3. Start a flight

I fly almost exclusively in Free Flight with Live Weather and have never encountered this issue.
I suspect that it’s going to be hard for the test team to repro this based on your reproduction steps.
Could you provide a list of all addons (payware or freeware) that you have installed on your system, whether enabled or disabled.

Yeah, I imagine it will be hard to reproduce since there’s really no reproduction steps, it just happens randomly during a flight.

Looks like I found the underlying issue.

I have been using Elevatex for the last couple of months. Yesterday, I had a lot of issues with the live weather turning off and desynchronizing. Today, I decided to skip Elevatex, suspecting it might be causing these problems. Turns out it might be the culprit.

Per another report we know Elevatex was impacting time setting (Always back to real-time? - #6 by DAQUA3828) but it would be interesting to know if it could then also have an impact on weather setting. Please keep us informed if disabling it definitively fixed your Live weather turning off issue.

I can confirm that the issue does not occur after I turned time sync in Elevatex. Two consecutive flights without live weather turning off randomly.

This problem occurs in SU4 for me when using time compression in PMDG 777
