Livery Discussion | Discuss Liveries Here!

The tail and engines on the 787 are mirrored on the left, this is something Asobo has to fix and is, unfortunately, out of our control. I decided to put the RR logo there anyway, because I preferred it like that, but there’s no way (as of right now) to fix the mirroring. Glad you like the livery though!

Willing to pay someone to create a livery for me for a secret video project I am working on. IF you are able to help me with a quality repaint please let me know.

I found out that for the new “megapack”, each livery folder goes into the community folder by itself. It will not work if the livery folders are in a subfolder. Also, each livery folder needs to have the .pak files (de-DE.locPak, en-US.locPak, etc.) in the same folder as the layout.json file and the layout.json file needs to have the entries for the .pak files. This needs to be done for each of the livery folders. I’m not sure if there is another way, but this worked for me.

I used Blender to do the painting in the program. It will automatically put the lines or whatever you add to appropriate place on the texture. Makes it way easier to paint some of the more difficult texture layouts in MSFS.

Here is the post in the forums that I used to get started.

I have a general question. I see some painters here who keep adding updates to their liveries even though everything already seems to be perfectly shiny … But when I use the liveries, airports look like salesrooms in an aircraft trade, everything is polished and brand new. Isn’t it possible to artificially age the perfect paintwork? E.g. the rear of the APU and the rear parts of the turbines are always black and d-irty from the kerosene exhaust. Around the windowframes you can see dirt from the rain that runs down the windows and forms dark streaks down there. The paint is different because it is d-irty. I can’t do it myself or haven’t tried it yet, but I wish there is someone to make a livery copy of an existing one that has been artificially aged in order to have a comparison

and i ask me why is the word D-irty locked
You can also overdo it, there is nothing offensive about it if an airplane is ■■■■■ or

What plane do you want to spot?

I wish an old Air Berlin, or Easyjet or Rianair

But actually it is not important which one, I think it is all the more important that everyone who makes the effort to create liveries here do it, because this is the only way the world and especially the airports look realistic! As already written, I have neither created a liverie nor have any idea how to get this patina on it afterwards. is it a big effort? Maybe it’s just an overlay of what you have to say. maybe a little tutorial wouldn’t be bad. Unfortunately, at the moment I have little time to deal with the whole background of the sim but if I show I think in 2-3 months I will try to do one or the other myself if I can learn it.

it would be nice if you could get this paint job done

Enough that you can install them as you currently install them …
It sucks is not the most correct when there are people behind working so that we can all include new liveries …

Thank you so much to the livery creators for dedicating their time so that we can all add to our game experience.

Hi there!

Did you get mirrored liveries on b747?

Any tips to solve?

and this one too

This looks insanely good. Are you planning to offer this once it’s done?

It is already finished, and I want to release it, but my problem is that I don’t know how to create the folder and how to put it in Community, I get confused to configure the CFG and the JSON

I recently downloaded the new livery megapack update and none of my liveries (including megapack liveries) are showing up. Just the generic livery that comes with the sim. Any solution?

Make sure you have the folder structure right.

Each of the liveries should be placed directly in the Community folder so it’s like…

Community > Asobo_A320_NEO_AAL…

Unfortunately, I can’t help you there as I haven’t created any liveries myself.

As an idea, you could potentially share the grunge you’ve created as a mask that could then be placed over other liveries. The scratching and wear you created underneath the engines looks really nice.

I found out why, None of the files but 3 have the “layout” JSON folder which is weird.
