Asobo has to correct the issue. The texture is mirrored. They have created decals that are applied on top of the texture, so mirrored or not, they show up correctly. We, as repainters, remove the decals and just paint onto the texture file. That is mirrored currently. Once Asobo corrects this oversite, we can paint proper liveries onto the 747. Until then, we have the XCub!

I thought oh with the new update and the optional aviators livery, I thought wait how did they get Flight Simulator to not mirror on fuselage, and perhaps thought the model got correctedā¦ oh boyā¦ yes it was modifiedā¦ but with another vector decalā¦ Does vectoring really take more time to do? than allow a new UV map?
It is worse now. Liveries on 747 have always been a mess.
A few months ago i installed the livery megapack.
With that i created some textures for some planes.
And all was working wellā¦
From update 1.12.13 my Baron textures are not shown anymore.
It seems to show the plain mod colors. All other planes are OK.
Does anybody know why?
Make sure you have a version after version 8. If you have version 8 or prior, no other liveries will be able to be shown other than those in the pack.
You mean the Livery Megapack V8 ? But why only the Baron ??
The 787, A320, Caravan, Longtitude, Citattion, KingAir and more are all ok
The problem with the Baron since MFS update 1.12.13 23Dec20 is due to the fact that MS/Asobo have changed the filenames of a number of the Baronās texture files.
Iād have hoped that meant theyād fixed some of the texture mapping issues with the Baron (eg the double mapped bit of tail/fuse for one) - but no, nothing fixed there, just the filenames changed - for reasons beyond anything I can see, or is documented. OK so the filenames now more conform with the inconsistent texture filename convention but not entirely, and now thereās also a double-up of one of the DECAL files. The double-up does no harm - but it shows a lack of care.
You can fix all this yourself possibly- compare the filenames in the āOfficialā folder and those in your custom livery folder, change (changed) filenames to match those in the Official folder. Use āauto-jasonā or such to update the layout.json , restart MFS and you should have the paint back on your Baron.
Or wait for the repaint author to update. Luckily I only had one to update.

Can someone please help me - my BA liveries havenāt appeared properly on the 787 since the last update - I have Liveries version 12 - is there anything else I am doing wrong?
Yes even worse now for the defaultsā¦ the tail spar ribs seem more pronounced like a WW1 biplane skin.

fuselage texture is now 1 of 4 in one texture file now. it is now a new file which you must move your old fuselage texture to the top left corner of the new fuselage texture file.

Does anyone possibly have the old airframe hull norm file for the 747 prior the the patch?
I try to modify this by simply erasing that rib area, but it then turns the whole plane to more shiny appearance with exposed frame lines.
while it ironically does fix the ugly tail rib effect.

Found a simple solution, I turned it to completely transparent and it fixed all my 747 liveries, but you kinda lose the metal fuselage fatigue effect, but it was worth it.
Hi you need to download the complete file named āliveries-cj4ā unzip it and put the foleder āliveries-cj4ā in the community folder. It should work just fine, providing you donāt have any other custome liveries for the cj4.
