Is it possible to set up a load shedding scenario in PMDG B777? What would have to happen in the plane to make the load shed happen?
Google says load shedding is when the plane disconnects electrical loads automatically o make sure power is available to critical systems. I believe it shows up on the EICAS
Anyone know a way I can make this scenario happen?
Oh yes, you will know when it happens, you will have lots of alarms.
Losing both engines and being on an APU would sure trigger it.
I’m not sure how much electrical load would need to be dropped for a loss of a single engine, it would really depend on what systems were in service I would think.
Go into the FMC and fail some electrical systems (especially engine generators). Hilarity will ensue, especially if you don’t have a QRH handy and are very familiar with it.
Thank you. I will see if I can figure how to force a fail.
Then I need to film the messages on the EICAS. It’s for instructional purposes.
