Loading Flight Plans to the FMC in HD B78X and Aerosoft CRJ

First let me apologize, I hate having to ask for help. I also refuse to pull over for directions no matter how lost I am. I having been trying hard to figure this out on my own, with no success. So when I am asking for assistance, its because I’m really stuck.

I am having trouble with loading the flight plan created on the MSFS World Map into the FMC in both the Aerosoft CRJ and Heavy Division B78XH. I am familiar with other flight planning software such as Sim Brief and LittleNavMap. In every other plane, the flight plan loads automatically… just not the CRJ or now the b787. Sometimes I enjoy programming in each waypoint and its a neat option to have, just like starting a plane cold and dark. However, you always have the option to start your plane on the runway ready to go. Similarly I would like having the option of just loading the flight plan directly from the world map.

I have done my best to thoroughly read the documentation and try several different methods. For example, I would create the flight plan in LittleNavMap or Simbrief first and then load the plan on the world map. I have tried doing it the other way around. I usually end up getting an error message one way or another that the plan in not quite compatible with the other. I’ve managed to save the flight plan in the obscure directory that the FMS in the CRJ reads, but it loads the origin and destination but no way points. I was only having this problem in the CRJ and I was content just to use another plane if I didn’t want the work of manually entering the flight plan.

Now it seems like the b787 is doing the same thing. I noticed a new version of Heavy Division’s mod and wanted to try it out. Disappointed would be an understatement when I discovered it was also no longer loading waypoints automatically. The CRJ was always difficult, but the b787 is new. So now I feel like I need to ask for your help.

Are there any tutorial or documentation I have missed that will help me out? I am simply looking for all the waypoints chosen on the MSFS world map to be automatically transferred to the FMC just like in the FBW a320 or Salty’s 747 (well any plane really). What am I missing?

Again, I really appreciate the help. Thanks!

Hi. I know for the heavy 787 mod it is highly encouraged to use simbrief to import your FP and NOT via the MSFS world map.

For the CRJ I would recommend using simbrief, export the FP with the Simbrief export option and load it into the CRJ FMC. By the way, there are some examples in the CRJ manual .

For the CRJ I also recommend the use of simbrief & simbrief downloader. The latter detects de correct folder automatically. No problems encountered so far

I also use the SimBrief Downloader for Windows. It will automatically save my FlightPlan to the correct CRJ directory and the default MS directory. Note that there is an Aerosoft CRJ flightplan and a FS2020 flightplan, which is not necessarily the same file. In the Sim I load my FS2020 FlightPlan in the WorldMap, which is only necessary if you want ATC going. Then after spawning at the Gate/Parking, I enter the start and destination in the route field and hit execute, so that it loads my CRJ flightplan. If you allow it in the options in your EFB of the CRJ it will import SID and STARs etc.. It also contains all waypoints and sets the fuel, weight, winds etc. according to the flight plan. You still have to set these weight params through e.g. the EFB for the plane itself. There is one button for it from the three shown on the corresponding EFB page. Your FMC was already set up when you loaded the flightplan, so overwriting the FMC by your EFB settings is unnecessary.

I have some issues with simbrief import to my CRJ, too, resulting in a “load error” message all the time. followed the documentation, flp file downloaded in /aerosoft/work folder but still no success. it happens with flights like LSZH-EDDH or EDDM-LOWW so the reason cannot be that the rwy is too short so the airport is not in the CRJs database. any idea?
