Brief description of the issue:
After starting loading a flight, blue bar will get stuck at 50 to 60% and then the sim will proceed to stop responding on the task manager. Turning off online functionality solves the problem, but turning on again when flight is loaded crashes the whole system.

Provide Screenshot(s)/video(s) of the issue encountered:

Same problem here on my PC. Tried it with complete new install, deleted community folder, but still no success.

AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core, AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT, Windows 11

Any hints are appreciated.

This solved the problem.

DELETE STEAM CLOUD SAVE (STEAM VERSION)

WARNING: Doing so will delete your logbook permanently.

If the crash happens upon loading:

  • Close Microsoft Flight Simulator
  • Right-click on the Microsoft Flight Simulator icon
  • Go to Properties
  • Uncheck the “Keep Game saves in the cloud for Microsoft Flight Simulator” box
  • Go C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata
  • Find the folder corresponding to your profile and delete the folder Steam\userdata\usernumber)\1250410
  • Restart Microsoft Flight Simulator

There is no STEAM account for my installation.

It’s very likely a save game failure. Try to find where your is and delete it, it will create a new one.

I have tried several things today without any success:

complete deinstallation and deleting all entries in the registry
all windows updates are installed
fresh install of MSFS
installed newest AMD chipset drivers
tested both online and offline
started as admin
tried to start flights from locations all over the world, flight lessons etc.

After hitting “Start to fly” blue bar will stucks at 50 to 60% and then the sim will proceed to stop responding on the task manager.

I have this exact problem. Windows 10 latest update and rebooted and tried again … failed

So it doesn’t depend on the OS. Strange, but a really good hint.

BTW: Until today I found no solution for it! Every day without flying is a bad day!

I am also on an:

AMD 5950x
x570 mobo chipset
6900xt
but Windows 10

and have the loading bug reversed, means, it hangs when trying to go to main menu after ending the flight!

i fly VR with the HP reverb G2.

Was able to start a flight again after deleting the content of this folder

AppData\Local\FlightSimulator

You should give it a try, too!

I gave it a try! It worked! Thank you so much! Hours of trying to get it to work in Windows 11 and was about to uninstall and reinstall, but deleting the contents of " AppData\Local\FlightSimulator" :+1: solved my problem. Kudos!

Happy to hear that it worked for you, too! Right time for getting it back to work. So you can check out the big update today. Have a lot of fun and enjoy the day.

Didn’t fix a thing. Still not working when online functionalities enabled.

But it was a good try that certainly didn’t make anything worse.

Just logged in to say thank you after I was encountering the same issue.

Great! Enjoy the next flights.
