So when loading in the new MSFS 2024 for a couple of times it seems to take more then 10-20 minutes. I’m not sure if anyone is having the same issue with long load times.

call me when this is working. right now 2024 is just a waste of time. sitting here with fast internet and 15 minutes 10% activating bla bla.
as usual its a good approach to wait a few month before using a new game.
as i type this the 10% didnt move for a few minutes.
this is the right moment to turn of the PC and stop waiting for something half baked and got simply rushed to release. its always the same story. companies release soemthing semi finished just to release it. WE NEED TO KEEP THE SCHEDUE AT ALL COST!!!
who would be so stupid to ■■■■ millions of people off and ruin the name of the company along the name of the product just to have something unfinished released?
its just exhausting and has nothing to with fun or joy. when will companies learn that the schedule is not the most important thing?
i am fed up with the gaming industry. as if they wouldnt know better.
the wrong departments decide when something gets released.

Absolute waste of time downloading this. My poor internet probably does not help but im finding it impossible to get into free flight. Loading times are horrendous and nothing seems to be happening

Have been trying to get a flight since day one but have yet to get one loaded. Having the same problem with both pc and Xbox. On the Xbox I can’t even get to customize your identity, I don’t even want to do this. This is a complete fiasco.

Same here. Long loading times to the main menu, then often into a flight or after a flight (in career mode). Interestingly I also have the game on XBox Series X and initial load into a game seems much faster than on PC.
I have been having crazy long load times. I feel like this is a chicken or the egg thing. They claim it’s faster loading than ever before, but in reality it just takes 20 minutes to get to the main menu. Cities Skylines 2 did the same thing. "Load times are cut into a quarter of what they were previously! When in reality the game won’t let you actually try to load into anything until pretty much every asset is already cached.
Yep same here. Takes waaaaay longer than MSFS2020. Is this just because the servers are under pressure? Hopefully it will be fixed as they increase server capacity

10- 20 min ??? Thats great, for me every time i load the sim it takes over an hour ! And i have a really a fast internet. This game is more then disappointing and the settings for controller, keyboard mouse… is a big joke, msfs 2020 is far better then this disaster.

I’ve been stuck on the loading screen for over 20 minutes now, and it’s still at 17%.
Downloading languages and activating packages should not be this long, I have a FFTH connection with 500Mb/s downloading speeds…
The fits iteration of flight simulator was a technical marvel… This second installment, not so much so far… I think I’d rather cope with insane download files than having to rely on a server infrastructure prone to failure, or at least have the choice… I bought the game at release and haven’t been able to fly even once despite trying to connect evey day since ! I’m glad I bought the already highly priced standard edition.
Interestingly my load times on XBox Series X are a lot faster than on PC (same network in my house on my end) - so I presume they have separate infrastructure for consoles and PCs with PCs taking bigger hit from users (or having smaller resources/servers amount compared to dedicated for consoles).
But that’s only my observation.
You’re probably right, to me “activating packages” (or whatever the English version of this is) seems to be the system checking which content I can access or not depending on the version of the game I bought. It looks like a simple database check, yet it takes forever where the bigger data such as “world data” and so on are done under a minute…

Weirdly for me when I try to run the game on PC and the progress just bogs down during initial game loading, when I check the Task Manager the Flight Simulator app stresses the CPU to 100% while the network traffic is basically 0. Seems like some bad programming standards to me, if there is an issue with the server, the code running on the client shouldn’t stress the CPU like that while waiting for the response from the server.

Giving up until later notice, really disappointed that I can’t play, when i do get in the game 10 minutes later the graphics are so bad i can’t see runways to land.
Steam MSFS2024 version (Windows 11 PC) I was experiencing long load times (20 plus minutes). I tried everything to speed things up.
Eventually, I uninstalled my Bitdefender Total Security App and also disabled MS Windows Defender (despite adjusting app ‘exclude’ settings) - no VPN.
Rebooted and now get a compete load time average of 3 MINUTES.
(I have a 2Tb Up & Download broadband.)
Can anyone advise further. I will try installed Bitdefender again and see what happens.

Six days in I still can’t start a single flight without using a VPN connecting to another country. When I do it works fine, but when I straight up connect to my internet provider without a VPN the loading times are much longer, it hangs forever after hitting start flight and texture loading also takes minutes before it gets even close to not being blurry.
That’s in Germany with a 100Mbit connection.
