I’ll just leave this gem of a restored classic soviet Antonov short movie here, it details several aircraft specifications:

FYI, automatic subtitles for your language of choice can be enabled on YouTube.

The wheels are doing way too much bouncing around on the ground even at slow speeds, rolling the aircraft left and right is very fast, probably too fast, The liveries and model of the aircraft itself look really good. And you can fly inverted as much as you’d like it appears.

So my take away from this, if you’re looking for a fun mess around plane to just have a laugh in from time to time this is for you, if you’re looking for a plane that provides a lot of depth? This isn’t delivering that.

Here’s my very realistic landing with the An-28.

Who made it?

AT Simulations. Same dev as the Local Legend AN2.

The plane has some obvious flight model issues, it accelerates too fast (Zero to 250 kph in under 30s), it climbs like a rocket ship, holds speed with very high angle of attack, stalls at around 95kph with flaps up (power on and off) and glides like a glider. I can keep it almost level and at 150 kph for a very long while at idle power.

Roll and pitch feel okay to handle, but the rudder and nose wheel are way to twitchty and sensitive.

Cockpit textures are good, external textures are good and the model can feel a little low poly when viewed up close. Nothing that will diminish my enjoyment of the plane. The flight model, on the other hand, will. I know this thing is supposed to be a very good stol plane with high rate of climb, but it seems to be way too overpowered right now.

Video recorded with 50% fuel and 2 pilots weighing 77 kg each.

Cockpit textures are good, agreed but I did not find the checklist covered everything, basically only the things to get up and running. There were many more switches and knobs I came across that I could not get the purpose for. They highlighted so they must do something.
Is there a manual? Nothing in the official manuals section.

Throttles/RPM gauges seemed to be faulty. Interior and exterior hud did not match. Taxi speed was crazy. She climbs like a rocket - is this normal for such an elderly lady?

Bug report done about the throttles/RPM.

In the Antonov movie I believe they reference the climb rate as 13.5m/s at Vy.

I wonder if that could be su 7 issues related.

Nice little plane, kinda AN-2 on max settings. I’d agree flight model feels little off, though I have zero knowledge of this plane. Took me almost 70 degree angle before I got it to power on stall. Otherwise hand fly feels nice.

Textures are nice, sounds are ok, not amazing, not terrible. For those looking for ENG cockpit layout, little “ENG” text is left top corner of main flight instruments, clickable and changes eng/rus on the go.

No gps or autopilot that I found. Also pressure setting in millimeters which you gotta convert somewhere.

One visual issuesI found so far.

trim buttons moves, but trim is not working for me.
a ghost sitting next to me (Halloween special?) see photo

rudder is quite sensive, but maybe Su7 bug related.

Barrel roll at ~5m

From what I’ve been reading and seeing, IRL this seems to be an aircraft with quite the power-to-weight ratio, and STOL characteristics, so the flight model might not be that off.

In the classic USSR Antonov movie they demonstrated good characteristics with only one engine.

I see those RPM gauges respond to changes in the throttle position.

I had the impression it could be. Not enough drag might explain most of those complaints.

Where are the autofeather switches? I have the little alert that I don’t have them on as I’m starting up for the first time, but I can’t find the fix.

Edit: It goes away on takeoff!
