Local Legend: NAMC YS-11

Need this livery. In the background I think there’s a Reeve Boeing 727-22C.

Training Manual

That’s a maintenance training manual. Hoping to find one for flight crew soon (beyond what’s included).

Update: It has more valuable content than I thought, and it looks like I discovered a bug with the high/low stop lights as a result.

I’ve encouraged the dev team to review pages 422-426 of the manual to enhance the high/low stop light warning logic and propeller function.

Has anyone had issues with one of their engines shutting down mid flight? It doesn’t happen to me all the time but I suspect that it has something to do with Alt-Tabbing out of and back into the MSFS window.

The aircraft has fuel, the engine settings don’t appear to have changed, but then suddenly the fuel flow drops off. The RPM stays in the same place initially but all other indications are that the engine is off. Then the stall shaker comes on (low AoA, 130 knots or higher) and the aircraft slowly descends into the ground. Feathering the prop doesn’t seem to help. I understand asymmetric thrust but this all feels… weird. I’ve not been able to figure out what’s happening.

Interesting - I was seeing 550 lbs/hr for each engine under similar conditions, and others also reported way too low fuel burn. I was thinking it could maybe be an error in units (550 kg –> 1210 lbs).

Maybe a “backend update”, which should be possible with the streaming concept?

Unless you have some weird binding happening. I do this all the time (alt-tab to windows) and in 3 flights I’ve had no issues with the aircraft engines shutting down. How long a fligth are you talking about? Mine have only been about 1 hr.

My only issues is I cannot work out how to turn the radar and garrmin on (any suggestions?), and when I switch from exterior to interior views the flight deck instruments cn sometimes take time to load (don’t have this issue with other aircraft!) otherwise I am enjoying it!!

On the OHP way at the middle rear you need to flip the radio switches all to on to get the GPS powered up. You might also need to have the inverters switched on too.

Radar switch has already been covered here-

Needs a Paint Kit

That could be possible, perhaps if you have your simulator set to metric units it will display fuel burn as kg/hr instead of lbs? I have mine set to default, so lbs, feet etc.

Hello,

I have been inevitably redirected by iniBuilds to ask this question of Microsoft:

Will there be a paint kit released for the YS-11?

Thank you.

I have also the fuel burn of 550 lbs/hr instead of 1210 lbs/hr. Which unit settings would you suggest to change?

EDIT: with the Simconnect SIMVAR watches, I can see both engines consume 72 GPH (Gallons per Hour), that equals the 550 LBS/HR. But it seem too much of a coincidence that the desired 1210 LBS/HR equals appr 550 KG/HR… So somewhere the math might be wrong inside the plane. Aircraft have crashed for such calculations… Gimli Glider - Wikipedia

Re pump switches:

The sim is not correct.
The font in the term “booster pump” is quite big to fit in under the switch.
In the photo the two words form a term together, in the sim they are not.
On the number two engine real life photo read the word EMER then read below to the term BOOSTER PUMP
On the number one engine, the real life photo reads likewise read EMER, then due to the length of the term, read to the left and see BOOSTER PUMP.

With the terms separated in the sim, the wording is not correct!

I think it’s best if people are seeing different things regarding fuel flow to post on the inibuilds YS-11 subforum, under that own subforum’s systems section. (In addition to a formal bug report here). Seems like some are showing correct flow and others aren’t. Not sure if there is a sim difference between 2020 and 2024 involved.

I’m guessing that their team is still reviewing feedback and I’m totally guessing and hoping we’ll see a comprehensive update by November.

Regarding a paint kit, it seems to be a finger pointing thing between Ini and MS saying each party is responsible, so maybe a Zendesk request to MS would help. Don’t know. Please note that blank white textures are available though.

With the minor bugs acknowledged, I still think this aircraft is very good fun to fly! Just took her for a LGIR - LGAV (Athens) flight with FSEconomy passengers on board.

Just did that: please comment on this thread on the Ini forum: Fuel flow too low (lbh/kg issue?) - Systems - iniBuilds Forum

Is this 2020 or 2024? I was thinking about this setting:

As you can see mine is set to U.S, just wondering if it’s set to anything else if that is making a difference or not ( this is 2024).

I have this set to Hybrid in 2024 as well. I changed it in flight, but that didnt make a difference. I might try to set it to US, then reload the sim and do a flight. If I find some time

This is my current fuel flow at idle:

And this is full power (Both on ground)

Standard fuel quantity seems to be 3,500lbs per tank:
