I think there is a bug where it sets the multiplayer traffic to live only when you mess with the weather settings after you load in. Doesn’t seem to be a way to get “All Players” back unless you quit and reload with custom weather.
I think this is one of the reasons why a lot of people get hidden
That second picture just shows how badly designed the UI is. Nobody in their right mind can look at that and not say they slanted it heavily towards Xbox. PC UI design would never use that much screen space for those types of options.
Been confused by this as well. I love seeing lots of players in the sky - groups of gliders out for a group event, f18s doing random loops over LAX, random players that you bump into in your particular plane and fly alongside for a while. Taking turns landing on skyscrapers with other heli pilots.
A lively multiplayer environment made some of my favorite memories of FS2020, as silly as it is. But 2024 is dead empty. Ive seen way more animals than other players. I guess we can blame it on
Weird UI that forces you into Live Players which is a strange default choice
Split playerbase
reduced visibility distance for nametags
And i think even if you select All Players it possibly pushes you back into Live Players if you go into weather settings?
Yes its a horrible design, just like the rest of the UI. And nothing sticks.
It jumps back to live players if you select live time for some reason.
I barely see anyone flying at the scandinavian airports ENGM, ENBR, ESSA, EKCH, one or two maybe a day. So the multiplayer IS working. Its just that there is so few people playing this game OR confused about the settings.
I did however experience a giant moose sprinting down the runway in front of me as I was taking off from ENVA in the B738M, during night time, almost hit it. That was definitely a kodak moment… man I just dated myself.
Other than that, me and a friend doing a bush trip (i guess you can call it that) to Vancouver with XCubs almost every evening, but the weather got us grounded in Oregon for the last cpl of days so there’s that.
With regards to traffic, i have labels turned off but since most show up as traffic in the Garmin suites anyways i think i’m not seeing much difference compared to 2020.
I remember in the Salt Lake Area my buddy literally told me to watch out because there’s so much traffic around - but in retrospective i cannot tell if it was mostly players or live traffic (some surely been players judging by the routes they’ve been flying, but some might’ve been either).
There’s surely been days with not much going on as well, but generally speaking it doesn’t feel very empty to me, unless i’m in career mode of course..
Me and a friend of mine are flying almost every evening, also from Germany, with no problems at all.
That is, besides the known issues of course, which got partially addressed with patch 3.
Not sure why you’d speak for “most of us germans”, the ones i know are all able to fly.. Of course your mileage may vary, i wouldn’t doubt that for a second, but being in Germany is probably not the root of the problem i’d say.
Is that working? Even when I select that, if I go back into that screen, I find that it’s reverted to “Live” instead of “All Players.” Strangely, it does remember the “Off” setting, but not the “All Players” setting.
The live/all players setting appears to be dependent on the time & weather setting. If you move the “24h history” time slider the multiplayer setting will change – that’s to be expected when it comes to changing off of Live onto All Players, but it also changes back to Live if you move the time slider back to the far right, even if you’d manually selected “All Players.”
I suspect that the Multiplayer setting is being reset based on the “24h history” setting (even if you don’t touch the time setting) and that pressing the “All Players” button doesn’t actually accomplish anything.
I do see some aircraft but very few. The world map will show lots of aircraft but no matter what server or player settings I choose, I still see very few.
Lonely seas too, with no ships to see unless you are within a few meters of them. The LOD cull for PC is crazy and I think its same for MP as if there players nearby the LOD cull is making them invisible, too.
I believe there is a level of glitch-iness around what setting/options you select with regards to both players and weather. If I recall correctly there is a situation where using live weather may prevent other users showing up.
I only get 1 or 2 nametags displaying other flyers, regardless of server used.Anyone know if there is an issue with other flyers showing up? I also get a message flashing up saying Live Aircraft data error? Nameplates and multi fly options are ticked. One of my friends has same issue.
They only show nametags up to 10km away now. Also make sure you are not on Live Time (just change it by at least a minute) and you ARE on All Players from the flight setup page.
