Making the switch from XBOX to PC

Hi,

i am currently in the process of building a new PC for MSFS making the switch from XBOX, i was just wondering what are the best addons for the PC apart from the obvious

I pulled this from the MSFS Official Discord  All freeware!

Do you have any peripherals, i.e. Yoke / Throttle Quadrant / Rudder Pedals / HOTAS / Streamdeck?

If you want to move beyond being a ‘mouser’ then I’d advise adding SPAD.NExT, Axes & Ohs, or Mobiflight to your software toolkit. They all have a learning curve, but allow you to do a deep dive into control bindings, and have some additional benefits.

I personally have a Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo (Yoke/TQ), an MFG Crosswind rudder, and a Streamdeck XL that I program using SPAD. There’s a hardware mod out there that let’s you add 4 encoder knobs controlled by an Arduino to the Streamdeck XL. I’m strongly considering building it for my modest cockpit.

I won’t get into which Yoke/TQ/Rudder/HOTAS is best for you. A lot depends on what type aircraft you like to fly, as well as budget, and there are a ton of discussions on this forum regarding all the possible pieces of the puzzle.

As for software, I recommend Riva Statistics Tuner, Reshade, and Shift+Z Stats.
Also, check out this thread for other popular mods.

I just switched the other way, from PC to Xbox haha. I don’t care about mods and addons, I just want great graphics and the Xbox series X has given me that. No more trying to get the best FPS or wondering if I should upgrade the drivers etc. . 4k graphics heck yeah, I’m blown away by it.

You don’t need to do this on PC either, though. It’s just available on PC as an option.

yes i have the honeycomb Alpha and Bravo, but no rudder pedals yet.
also is the GSX addon worth it?

Welcome! You won’t regret it. Pmdg line, inibuilds airports, KLAX, etc. flytampa airports

Yes, definitely IMHO. I was a big fan of Toolbar Pushback but it’s become buggy and doesn’t seem to be supported any more.

GSX does have its issues, but overall it’s way better if only for the pushbacks. And it doesn’t cost a King’s ransom.

I just followed some advice I found in this forum, as well as elsewhere on the internet, and it seems to have really worked as advertised to increase my sim performance.

DLSS Swapper

It lets you update the dlss.dll file to any one of a number of more recent versions. Mine updated from version 2.xx to the latest 3.5.10 version, and it’s been smooth so far. The thing I like about this tool is that it makes it easy to revert to another version if problems are encountered. The author makes no claims, and neither do I. But so far I’m glad I did the update.

It works on any GPU in any game that support DLSS. I have a 3090 Ti.
