Will this product conflict with GAIST Global Ship Traffic?
No issues with GAIST,
I know for sure that Heinrich has Marinas installed and his trying do add bigger ship in harbours and ports according to Marinas placement
I got this last night, and it looks excellent! I didn’t realise how much simple things like the buoys in harbour areas would increase the realism. Sometimes you don’t realise what’s missing until you see it put in there.
I am still seeing a few flat sunken Asobo boats alongside the 3D ones though, is that normal? Are there settings I can change to address this?
Thanks a lot!
The “sunken” boats are the aerial imagery, unfortunately the water shader isn’t precise enough to do “automated” fixes in all the world (any attempt may result in unwanted water over the land)
So no specific setting can take care of them unfortunately!
Sorry to post in this topic, but I couldn’t see another one for solar farms: is there any way you can increase the draw distance on the solar farms? The panels tend to spawn in quite a tight circle, much tighter than other objects and autogen. It’s a little immersion-breaking…
Is this add on still available? Web site said not downloadable….
If I remember right, it’s only available as a paid add-on now.
Have to query the site since I have an account and logged in but would not let me purchase.
I checked and seems only MSFS 2020… does not seem right. I sent them a mail.
Available on marketplace now. I picked up marinas and it works on fs2024. You can also buy from his website, but I like streaming it as it makes more sense to me. The old freeware one was for 2020. I think the new one is for both sims and has been updated. It now has sea buoys and beacons in it too.
Available at simMarket here: simMarket: MARINAS - BOATS AND PIERS MSFS20/24
…with buoys and beacons as @BragRaindrop933 says, and (as of version 0.9.1) also with cranes and containers in all major commercial ports around the world.
Thanks very much. On the approach to KSFO there is a marina right off the left wingtip. The previous add on done by a local I think does not play well with 2024.
BTW, I have a 5080 that is working very well with the new NVIDIA driver and it handles the KSFO FlightBeams addon in stride so I am optimistic yours will work. Theirs includes seagulls.
I believe you have to turn on some setting to get the beacon IDs for boats… tried that at the start of 2024 and some boats in the marina lit up.
Clear skys!
Yes, see my comments and images. Thanks for the help.
Here are some images from the approach to SFO… turns out there are 3 marinas there… no performance hit.
Coyote Point off approach end 28L&R SFO… nice touch to add the breakwater… below two other marinas including Foster City a community on the Bay for boaters.
Yes marinas is a must have add on. Even for airliners. I had the freeware version previously, but I like the new one with buoys adds nice detail. It even has some harbour beacon lights I think. Just superb for those sea approaches.
I know the place well and if you look close lights are on pilings=piers… ![]()
And the new large cranes at ports, too. It’s epic!
I’ve not seen that yet, I must go do some GA/heli and go look!
Hi, in order to maintain cross compatibility with console and avoid performance hit on large solar farms I needed to stay complaint with SDK rules and avoid artificial enlargement of the objects,
Maybe I can release a version with some cheats to make them less popping, but if you plan to fly over large plants performance will be affected
The Asobo’s mass placing algorithm is 2024 is far superior than the 2020 one, but is still a ton of objects of the same type that needs to be computed, maybe in next SIM updates they will find a way to further improve it ![]()
I had a nice arrival into TJSJ last night in the MD-11. The approach took me right over the harbor and there were dockside cranes and illuminated/flashing buoys. All very impressive. This add on is a must for global scenery no matter what you fly around in.
Very happy with the program but here is a small artifact that perfectionists may want to fix. This is off the departure end of Runways 32L&R at KNUQ Moffett Federal Airstation in Mountain View California (Top Red Arrow). There are some powerlines on pilings that go into San Francisco Bay here and they have grown some nice sailboats.
The locals that fly out of here a lot see they every day… amusing.
Ahaha lovely!
Ok gonna remove these boats!
Very interesting,.why they are connecting the power lines with some piers structures? Maintenance maybe?
