I tried it from within the sim, e.g. picked Discovery Flights from the Welcome menu, then selected Gold Coast. It told me that I needed to get it from the Marketplace, then took me to a menu where Get It and Download was greyed out, but Get It was selectable; Didn’t work from there. I had to go back to the Welcome menu again and go in through the Marketplace from there, and it downloaded fine.
Communities folder empty.
Non-Asobo aircraft removed.
Downloading ‘Standard’ Mandatory update.
Target folder:

where ‘Deluxe’ Mandatory update D/L went.
Still rolling round / not downloaded.
Why? Why? Why?
Hey hey!
fs-base-0.1.221.0-fsupdate.001 has got in !!!
Keep trying for the others.
I had no problem during the update. Yet I’m quite puzzled.
A mandatory update about what? A specific part of the world I personally don’t fly into… yet if I would I should go on market-place and download it… and a payware aircraft that, just in case I would be interested in, I would evaluate after reading review and first impression.
What is into that 1.8 GIG I downloaded? Activities? Did they fix something? Did I miss a complete release note?
#1: the new splash screen ![]()
#2: they’ve added a bunch of airports all over the world, has nothing to do with australia
#3: they’ve fixed a bunch of airports all over the world, has nothing to do with austrialia
#4: who knows
(fs-base)
Mine went in OK but not tried more than a couppe of minutes yet. One thing though - how do we find out what was updated in other areas via content manager? I am keen to know what has changed in Uk so I can remove any 3rd party stuff if the sim now does that themselves.
I can’t tell you file wise, but here are the release notes mentioning many airports that got updated: https://www.flightsimulator.com/release-notes-1-22-2-0-world-update-vii-australia-now-available/
#2: Hey they actually added missing Australian airports too!
#3: All the fixed airports were in Australia as they all started with Y

oh yes, all just australia. Sorry. But what i saw during the update was that some landing challenges, planes (reno) etc. got update…
Don’t forget about the rest of the world, you were half-right about point #2: [RELEASE] Release Notes (1.22.2.0) World Update VII: Australia Now Available!
Addition of more than 500 missing airports in game including 54 for Australia thanks to the Community:
My update went perfectly, like most before. Just had a couple of short flights in Australia and all seemed excellent.
I have an old rig I built in 2013 and at first had some problems but now, and with the help of the RD Presets book, and on line, everything runs really well so I have put off making a new rig for a while.
Mine seems “hosed”. Still stuck at the splash screen.
I probably need a re-install.
So wasn’t me… it’s really a mandatory australian update LOL.
Before you try reinstalling kill MSFS move everything out of your Community folder and then relaunch MSFS.
For the Windows Store install:
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
For the Steam install:
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightDashboard_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages\Community
OR
C:\Users\[Your User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator\Packages\Community
Important: Windows 10 by default hides the “AppData” folder, so you will have to go to “View” in the menu of File Explorer, and select “Hidden items” so as to see it.
It’s a mandatory update with Australian and global content. Over 446 missing global airports were added with this update.
whaat a ■■■■ of update, at 75% the updat its on a permanent loop, can Asobo test this before launch in public? omfg
No problem here. I looked in MS Store last night and it said the update was available, but I decided to leave it till this morning.
When I looked this morning, it no longer appeared in the store, so I started the sim. I immediately got the UAC dialogue, so it appears the update had downloaded in the background.
So…it updated straight away and I had some updated scenery available in Content Manager, and the WU was right there in the Marketplace. All downloaded OK. Quicker than normal too, though that may be due to the time of day.
ETA: I don’t even have the Xbox app installed.
Thanks but none of it helped. I’m a couple hours in and 50% through the reinstall.
I have the sim installed on the D drive but ran out of space on the C drive.
Figuring lack of drive space may have corrupted something in the install I did some drive cleanup and changed the Stream to point the whole library to the D drive.
I didn’t ‘like’ your comment because you are finding difficulty.
I ‘liked’ it so it tells me I’m not alone… ![]()
Never mind.
XPlane 12 will be along soon.
