It would be great if future development updates could include more updates about ongoing development. What’s planned for SU2? When will new aerial imagery and the ATC rework promised for the 2024 release arrive? Are they being worked on? Should we expect them in the next couple of quarters, or is this a 2026 thing?

Yes, it’s really weird that they call it a “development” update and then say practically nothing about the current development.

So isn’t that what we get during the monthly Dev Livestreams?

Hello @Vibstronium,

We share that information via updated Feedback Snapshots. Unfortunately, there was no new FS to share this week, so it will be forthcoming in a future weekly blog.

In the meantime, I encourage you to watch tomorrow’s Developer Livestream on Twitch for the type of information you’re looking for. If you’re unable to watch it live, we always upload the VOD to our YouTube channel afterward.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

That’s another plus, but it’d be even better if they could just… write some text in the blog posts they’re already making. We didn’t even get an update to the bugs lists!

I just find it frustrating as an already-frustrated customer with a large investment in this platform that there’s no development updates in the development updates.

I flew half the day in both 2020 and 24, enjoyed the progress made in 24 just today and over the course of the past week. When I can’t get the flight I want in 24, I boot up 2020 for a PMDG fix. I am so far from frustrated as a heavily invested sim pilot with all the things I can do with these two sims. Sure, things that are broken may or may not get fixed; but if I fixate on that stuff there is just no relief or fun. Pilots are problem solvers and IRL something is always deviating from expected, so pilots plod on and find ways to make things work. Fortunately for us, safety first is relatively without consequences, unless we ask too much of our rigs and ruin a good thing, right?

Bah you’re right I’m just being grumpy.

It’ll improve. Trust in the process.

They say that there have been 52 new releases for MSFS 2024. But aren’t those just all the planes that come with the aviator edition? So there are really no new releases this week for MSFS 2024, correct? Has there been any word yet when the airbus 350 will release on the marketplace for MSFS 2024?

Hello @PathlessSpore60,

The releases for MSFS 2024 in this week’s Marketplace update are all products that are available in the Deluxe or Premium Deluxe Editions. Now these aircraft are also available to purchase individually. For example, if you have the Standard Edition of MSFS 2024 but want to fly the Boeing 787 Dreamliner (previously only available in the Premium Deluxe Edition), you can purchase just that one plane by itself from the Marketplace if you are not interested in any of the other aircraft from the PD package.

Thanks,
MSFS Team

All of them? I dont see the H225 in the MP, for example.

Today the first third party airplanes appeared in the MP but only 2020 versions.

Actually, the 787 is NOT available for purchase. Quite a few other Deluxe and PD planes aren’t either. I suppose they’ll become available soon, right? Cheers

Ps: ALL of LVFR’s planes are already on MP. I bet MScenery will dump theirs soon after. Weee

Yeah.. This is something that I (and others) have asked about numerous times in these update discussions over the past year or two… Internally, what’s the goal of these “updates”? Most weeks the entire “development update” section is left completely blank- what purpose does that serve?

From my point of view, these “updates” seem like they’re extremely “phoned in” at this point… It’s legit a copy/paste from week to week with zero real substance, so what’s the point?

For example, the “Third Party Update” section is a complete copy/paste from week to week with a couple of numbers changed- and, I’d bet just about no one reads that section… I gotta believe something more useful could be swapped in to replace that part and it would actually provide your customers with some useful information on a weekly basis.

I’d even take biweekly updates if that means we get more predictable development content in them.

[Moderator edit: please do not ping the Community Managers] So there will be no su2 beta update this week? I am stiil watching for the Asobo to fix the vram bug

The “Third Party Update” will have to be reworked in one way or another the moment products really appear on the 2024 Marketplace. Otherwise those numbers no longer make any sense. E. g. “XYZ released in the PC Marketplace” … ok, which one, 2020, 2024, both?
It’s hardly readable in its current state, I hope they’ll come up with a more readable version, e. g. using tables like in the backlog section.
