Marketplace prompt every time MSFS 2024 starts that upgrades are available for the same products

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:
Every time I start MSFS 2024, I receive a prompt: “2 new MSFS 2024 upgrades are available in the Marketplace, go check them out!” Even though I have clicked on the notification in the past, I keep getting reminded of it each time, for the same products.

Did you experience this issue before you joined the Beta?
No. It is possible that this is not an SU 2 issue. I have only noticed it since the start of the MSFS 2024 SU 2 beta, so I’m logging it as a beta bug, however it’s possible that it’s simply the timing of the release of the upgrades or my using 2024 that caused me to see it now.

[PC Only] Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
I have none in 2024

FREQUENCY OF ISSUE

How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time on sim load

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Prerequisite: This only works if you own MSFS 2020 products that have upgraded 2024 versions for sale in the 2024 Marketplace that you have not yet purchased.
  2. Start MSFS 2024.
  3. Click “Start” when it becomes available.
  4. Click the bell :bell: icon at the top. Notice the notification for MSFS 2024 upgrade(s) being available.
  5. Click the “Marketplace” button, bringing you to the Marketplace and the product(s).
  6. Don’t purchase the products. Just exit MSFS 2024.
  7. Restart MSFS 2024, and click “Start” when it becomes available.
  8. Click the bell :bell: icon at the top again.

Expected result:
You have already looked at the available product upgrades in the 2024 Marketplace in step 4, therefore you expect not to see the same notification again.

Observed result:
The same notification that you saw in step 3 is back for a second time, and you can click it, and it will bring you to the same products you saw in step 4.

When I first got MSFS for the XBox, I didn’t know any better at the time and bought the A-10 from MScenery. The front nose wheel was on backwards, the wheels didn’t actually roll, the plane was able to fly unrealistically. I wish I hadn’t bought the plane, and have never used it since.

MScenery now has a 2024 update for that plane. At $16.99 for the upgrade. I am not going to spend that kind of money on something that I know I don’t want. BUT now every single time, the upgrade message just will NOT go away. I am not going to pay $16.99 just to make the message go away. There has to be some kind of way to reject an upgrade and not have to be continually notified each and everytime you come into the sim.

Yup Everytime I login couple of packs of livieres by 4simmers bought the collection for 10nzd so not upgrading each individual pack in the collection at $2.50nzd Fxxx that

Again have noticed 4simmers is constant for an upgrade price while others are doing free upgrades

4simmers has been added to my avoid list for this among others brek, mcsc etc I know I don’t need to write the full developer name for people to agree

I don’t disagree with paid upgrades as a principle because for things like high-quality aircraft and scenery it appears that quite a bit of dev time is required to make them fully 2024-native. That ends, however, at the likes of default aircraft liveries and arcade-quality aircraft charging near-full-price for the “upgrade.”

Agree there’s ones I’ll happily pay an upgrade fee of up to $20 on but livieres and shovelware having an upgrade cost which is nearly the same as buying it is a bloody joke

I have exact same issue. I bought some obscure airports in 2020, now they have their “V2 2024 upgrade” versions for an additional price and so Notification system of 2024 Marketplace prompt me those with each and every game start. I’m not interested in buying same thing for the second time!

Still a bug in 1.4.20.0.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Yes

• After clicking the bell I get a blank screen

This happens to me too.

The same nagging each time I start MSFS2024:

Also, the Back [ESC] button in the UI has no effect; nothing happens when I click it.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: “New upgrade” notifications come back every launch, even after being dismissed by clicking “x”.

I never plan to buy this upgrade (I don’t fly enough in this region to justify it) so I would like to acknowledge that I have seen the upgrade and stop getting notifications for it. I don’t mind seeing it in the “Upgrades” section on Marketplace, but having it give me the notification for all eternity means I’ll stop clicking the notifications icon and you will potentially lose future purchases.

REPRODUCTION STEPS

Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:

  1. Purchase “Mexico City Landmarks” from Flymex on FS2020 (prior to MSFS 2024’s launch)
  2. Start MSFS 2024
  3. Click the Notifications bell in the upper right.
  4. “New upgrade” for Mexico City Landmarks MSFS2024 notification shows
  5. Dismiss notification by clicking X, or view the the Item Page
  6. Exit MSFS
  7. Restart MSFS 2024. The “New Upgrade” notification for Mexico City is there again. Every time. I’m never going to buy this upgrade.

Upgrade section in Marketplace is fine. The notification in the top right should not appear for all eternity.

In SU3 beta it’s gotten extra-annoying, with a pop-up that sometimes appears and doesn’t go away when you go to set up a flight.
