I have huge performance decrease when the game is spawning passenger on boarding. Depending on how many passenger I try to board, but more than 40 passenger makes my mainthread going to 600ms latency and 4FPS when It’s spawning
Even after, when they are seated I still have performance issues, my game runs at 40-50FPS during all the flight, as if there was no passenger it runs at 60-70FPS
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
How often does this occur for you (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)?
Every time
REPRODUCTION STEPS
Please list clear steps you took in order to help our test team reproduce the same issue:
Start a flight with a liner (I did my test with 320N but It’s the same with default 737Max)
Fill your passenger plan on EFB, and choose load instantly or with ATC
If boarded instantly = you’ll see 20-30% less FPS than before especially if panning the camera behind the cockpit or in 3rd person view,
If boarded with ATC = you’ll get huge slutters and hammered CPU when the ramp will be connected to the aircraft
YOUR SETTINGS
My character settings are:
Quantity = High or Ultra
Variety = Low (lot of clones but i’m ok with that)
Quality = Medium (if you put it low it just turn off all passenger model)
[PC Only] Are you using Developer Mode or have you made any changes to it?
No
[PC Only] What GPU (Graphics Card) do you use?
RTX 5060TI 16GB
[PC Only] What other relevant PC specs can you share?
I agree, but loosing more than 45-50% of performance with a full 320 is still a lot.. and there is definitely an issue when the passenger are spawning via the ramp/jetway I sometimes have to wait more than 1min to recover my FPS from 5-6 to 40-45, when load instantly doesn’t affect it.
And as I stated in my other topic we can’t put the character quality to low so It’s not improving the situation
It was one of the reasons I didn’t buy that Inibuilds/MS aircraft, the ‘Samurai’ (NAMC YS-11) in MSFS 2024. When you load it, it fills the passenger cabin with these FPS-eating dummies, and worse, it drops FPS even in the external view by more than 50 to 60%. This happens on aircraft that are loaded using the EFB. 737 Max, 787, and others that load using the EFB. Is there a way to disable this somewhere? I thought I could just disable the copilot in the menu that customizes your user, but it didn’t remove these FPS-eating passengers.
Voting in favor of having an option to remove this.
By setting character quantity to Off and Character quality to Low the passenger model will not spawn anymore, and they still count in the weight of the plane
I just noticed on the last stream of KipOnTheGround on Twitch that’s he experencied the same issue when testing the 737Max on SU4, he went from 70FPS to 30FPS on cruise with boarded and visible passenger, and he is running a 5090 coupled with a ryzen 9
If with this kind of setup we cannot display 100pax or + with more than 35FPS there is definitly an issue with this functionnality
There is just no way current hardware is capable of handling this load. The graphics engine that FS2024 uses is one of the finest you will find. The amount of polygons it can handle (on a globe!!) with sightlines up to 75 miles is incredible. But a 777 full of animates passengers is just way too many 3d objects in a small space.
Depends on how they are done. Some DLC aircraft only spawn them when the cockpit door is open. But even when they are not shown, the sim still has to ‘load’ them and see if they need to be shown or not. That’s not a heavy load though.
What is the point of actually having avatars then if they tank performance? Best just to say this is how many you have and the plane calculates based on your statement. Save fps for visuals and stutter free flights.
This should be mandatory for all planes, like disable them on 3rd person view and when door is closed (if the plane has door of course)
For me this functionnality is the last performance killer I get on SU4, all the rest is almost fine
And just for the joke, yes I know It’s definitly not the same game etc but Fifa 2012 was displaying thousand of spectator on PS2/3 without any issue
This should be optimised I don’t care if I don’t see the moustache of the last passenger sitted in the back of the plane when I turn my camera behind me…
