I had similar issues on nvidia 580.88, as well as random but consistent GPU crashes. Rolling back to 576.52 fixed it for me and performance is probably the best I’ve had so far. Not ideal (using an older driver) but at least it works.
I have serious stutters and FPS loss when I look around in the newest SU3 Beta build that I thought I was able to fix but it turned out it didn’t fix it. What’s odd is it seems to happen when flying around very specific areas. I can be seeing 120+ FPS look around and all is fine most of the time but there are times FPS drops like a rock and the main thread shoots up into dark red and then will go back to normal. I couldn’t tell if something happened to my PC so I tried a few other games including X-Plane 12 and performance was fine.
Stutters should correspond to loading heavy objects in the pointed direction as if they were not yet loaded.
Try “Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching” → ultra
I have it set to that.
Have you tried
- a different driver for you gpu ?
- delete rolling cache / shader cache…
- Rebar ON or OFF ?
Also keep in mind performance can change from day to day, sometimes hour to hour. I wish when performance is good it would stay that way.
Yes.
Yes.
No, not yet.
Its nice aand smooth , but as mentioned somewhere else: The fear of switching viiews is back now. Each switch can result in a CTD (like years ago on msfs2020)…. already made a bug report…. hmm i dont know whats is better: Slower panning to avoid heavy stutter or just randomly CTD … i take the first.
Same here. I have tons of memory space left, but the game is not using it at all.
96G RAM and 5090
Was looking around and this happened…
EDIT: OK I think I sorted this issue out. I normally run a TLOD of 400 and dropped it down to 200. No more stuttering.
Your render scaling is > 100%, is it normal ?
I also saw big stutters when I passed near an airport and watching it.
I set the “Passive aircraft quality” option to Disabled and the stutters disappeared (and the passive planes parked at the airport too)
I tried a flight from canberra to melbourne. Still a lot of stutter BUT it is still a lot better than what it was before. Still fall short of Sim update 1 performance though.
E: Just a note this is fresh install. Lost all keybindings
In my case the degredation is linked to the EFB planner. As soon as as I hit “find route” my Main thread, Rdr Thread and Manipulators thread all drop and I get the corresponding stutters and FPS drop.
Makes no diffrerence if I flight plan before or after starting the flight.
No EFB flight plan, no problem.
At least I now have a work around but hopefully this can be fixed, it was driving me crazy.
You should do a bug report in a separate thread with as much detail as possible (if the issue hasn’t already been raised)
I get it without using the in-build EFB.
It can be a coincidence, but is a deeper system problem.
Jip same here. Sim freezes for about 20-30 seconds. Just when I decide to terminate the sim it wakes up. I have the same hardware setup as the author. And as recommended did a clean install. This .23 update makes performance much worse unfortunately.
Did you do a fresh install as recommended by the devs for This update? This latest beta release has completely fixed the issue for Me
Did a fresh install, no change in VR, still dreadful issues looking around when at airports with performance generally poor.
I have exatctly the same problem! Never had this before!!!
