Maule M7 by Pilot Experience Sim

You can make the copilot appear via the clipboard up on the middle of your panel. Click on the clipboard, then it will show up and you can choose copilot, baggage and chocks.

Not much to pick from re videos that have good sound recordings for comparison. Here is the exterior sound of an M-7 on floats. Maule M-7 Orion STOL Takeoff - YouTube

takeoff and landing in a maule is a challenge. there is a lot of p-factor to deal with and not much rudder-authority in the beginning of the takeoff-run. we takeoff with full power and flaps +1 (24°) by pushing the yoke until she lifts her tail and then pull back slightly around 50mph to rotate. this uses around 130-150m groundroll and with some training you can even use less. when the tailwheel is coming up you have to be very careful with your feet on the rudder.

tailnumbers: yes, those are baked in the liveries. i asked the devs to add a repaint kit or do some other liveries.

no i donā€˜t know that. i will ask them.

The top CDI has the knob that doesn’t work.

Not a very glowing report here. I’ve decided to pass which is a shame as I was really looking forward to this.

It uses the default Bonanza sounds which is disappointing

I share my opinion for those who are interested, i appreciate the plane for what it is.

There are clearly things that can be improved such as ATC call sign which says Pilot Experience Sim, to have the real sound and not a reuse even if it’s close, given the price of the plane we expect to have that and maybe some new liveries.

So far i really like flying it, i really enjoy the experience and i hope that the plane will continue to be followed and improved.

Here are some pictures of my last excursion over China

I’m with you regarding the sound. Sounds can be a huge immersion factor or killer depending on how realistic it is. I’m not taking anything away from the Beta testers, but it seems a bit twitchy to me. I’ve never flown a Maule in real life, so I have to take their word for it. I do have real time in a Piper Warrior and Arrow II. I was on the beta team for JF’s Arrow II and I can say, those guys nailed it.

I did find a somewhat more pleasing option for the sound files. There is a payware sound set for the Cirrus model by Boris Audio works for around $10 USD so it won’t break the bank. The developer is a super awesome guy and responds back right away. Well I got it for the Cirrus model and made some adjustments and added it to this plane. Wow, what a HUGE difference! It’s definitely a lot more immersive than the stock Bonanza sounds. It definitely adds to the realism factor for this little baby. All you need to do is some tweaks to the layout.jons and you’ve got sounds that’s pretty sweet.

It’s so impressive how many flight sim fans know the difference in sound between Lycoming and Continental engines.

Just my thoughts:

I don’t know the difference. If there is a difference I would expect it to be modelled. If there is no difference I would expect it to sound the same. Seems a reasonable approach.

If I bought a plane for over Ā£25ish I would hope the sounds had been sampled from an actual example. Maybe I don’t appreciate how arduous a task this might be or how costly the equipment, it’s just my expectation.

My issue about borrowing default sounds is I’m not entirely sure how much effort was put in to modelling every single default plane. I imagine some corners were cut as they were provided free. Again I’m making some assumptions and I’m happy to be shown off the mark?

On the other hand if someone says default plane X’s engine/prop combo is modelled superbly and it sounds the same as another plane I wouldn’t necessarily expect them to duplicate for the sake of it.

Yeah that irked me a bit too. Payware to me means the whole kit and caboodle. Anytime I see stock sounds on a payware model, I immediately think corners were cut somewhere. Now my antennas start to go up as to wonder, is there anything else they cut corners on. I’m not saying they did, but stock sounds should never be put in a payware model and the developer says they’re ā€œadaptive realistic soundsā€. To me that’s like a seller having a vehicle listed as dual exhaust because it has an adapter on the single exhaust that sounds like dual exhaust  I would have paid a few more dollars to get everything realistic, not just parts of it.

This lil proggy helps a lot I guess … And:
I allways will be a (constructive) critic, when somebody takes my money for a product, that’s half-baked.

And for those who want to learn new things …

Cheers

Do you know, if GTN750 by PMS50 will be available as well? I think TSD and PMS are the big ones for the moment.

according to their discord that is coming :+1:t3:

I hope that the develper offers and AP version in a future upgrade, the maule was one of the planes I flew the most in fsx. An AP makes thing much simpler, and the plane can be used in add on games like onair or airhauler

AvAngel just reviewed the Maule M7 but she called it the Inibuilds Maule. But this one is by Pilot Experience. So is Inibuilds just the store? It doesn’t mention Pilot Experience as the developer. But I assume it’s the same product.

Confused…

EDIT : I see now they have the PE trailer on the product page. That clears it up.

And AvAngel liked it.

AvAngel likes every plane she reviews.

I wondering if I got a corrupted install. My hobbs meter is stuck on 2.5 hours. Is this happening to anyone else??

No, but I’ve seen other strange things. Sometimes a switch or two will not move, or the throttle or mixture is frozen. Today the horizontal stabilizer was stuck all the way to the right and the vertical stuck all the way down. It made for an exciting take-off. I suspect I have a conflicting add-on somewhere.
