LOL, Dev Livestream went offline. Azure?

It would be nice to have the occasional stream, that’s simply a dev & community talk with more opportunity to discuss issues live, take live questions, as well as some pre-submitted questions. The Microsoft / Asobo staff (excluding the CMs), for the most part don’t communicate directly on this forum, so the occasional meeting would improve the feeling that many have of a Lack of Communication from Microsoft and Asobo.

These “shows” do have many interesting parts and development updates but I feel the questions from the community are rushed through and not always answered.

I understand the questions were pre-submitted. I was interested in hearing the questions others had but I was disappointed that some of the top topics being discussed here so enthusiastically, just sort the forum “top” to see, were not commented on; big point - the VRAM discussion, to name one but at least Seb briefly said, weather can be worked on if this reaches high votes on the wishlist threads after the focus is less on the current bugs.

Nothing interesting for me.
The aircraft from the Aviator Edition still aren’t getting updated and remain unusable.
It’s unfair to those who trusted Asobo and paid more.
The Piper P28… we already have from JF, and are even study-level, which the Carenado version certainly won’t be.
Still nothing about the older bugs, like the right mouse button freezing the controls, or worse, snow covering the Alps at low altitude even when it’s 25°C.

Sad

Twitch uses AWS but still funny. Sounded like Jayne’s internet connection has a small blip.

I overall thought it was a good stream. I appreciate Jorge’s passionate and transparency—when and where he can.

Is more and more obvious to me they overpromised with 2024, but are trying their best to get things fixed as soon as possible.

Amazing how a bit of communication goes a long way.

And still the REFUSE to talk about CLOUDS. They were asked about clouds and they talk again about wind and turbulence.

They said they want to get the prominent bugs fixed before working on clouds. So they did not refuse to discuss clouds.

I thought it was an excellent Dev Stream. It’s great to see Jorg, Seb and Chris’s passion for the sim.

Career mode being limited to only marketplace aircraft is a killer tbh, especially with the problems that come with the marketplace.

If you ever wanted to use the Fenix planes in career mode, well, there goes that ever happening.

They haven’t talked about clouds other than brushing it off, since about SU5/7.

Local Legends and Famous Flyers? They won’t even finish base sim default aircraft to a usable state.

Check out this H-4, a default aircraft in the base sim.

No cockpit! Six months and waiting to finally use the sim I paid for.

As a 2020 obsessive Beech 18 pilot, to be fair Jorg did address the local legends as one of the final questions and said they will be updated to 2024 but he doesn’t have a timeline yet. Some of the original teams who did the development are apparently not working on MSFS any longer so new teams need to be assigned.

Not gonna lie, I’m bummed MS/Asobo is skipping the FSExpo… this is the first one I’m able to attend and I was really looking forward to meeting the team :frowning:

Sorry have been away for some time, do we still get the transcription of what has been discussed in the dev stream ? It used to be shared after couple of days of dev stream. Second thing is where can I check the recording ? I checked the official YT page but didn’t see a video related to that.

I believe they may have discontinued the transcription as I didn’t see it for the last dev stream. It normally takes a day or so before the YT recording appears although the good thing is it includes English subtitles which can be helpful. The Twitch recording is also available but that doesn’t have subtitles.

No timeline for fixing the one thing that absolutely ruins performance on Xbox. It doesn’t matter what else they do, performance will be horrible on Xbox until this is sorted and in the meantime all they’ll do is nerf all the good stuff that doesn’t need to be nerfed. This needs much more priority than it obviously has

They said this before launch too. I don’t trust that statement one bit.

I wish it had continued, I really loved reading everything one by one. Thanks a lot for your response !

Nice stream as always.
Best surprising news for me was at the end:
they finally seem to tackle the (probable) WASM Inibuilds issues of the Airbus planes (plane freezes)

I was disappointed to hear that bush trips aren’t coming until Q1 2026. But at least now I have an answer so I can plan appropriately. It will still be 9-10 months before I can use 2024, so purchasing things for 2020 probably makes more sense currently.

I get that fixes take precedent but in the time that 2020 had 5 world updates after launch, 2024 will only have had 2 city updates & 1 world update..
