Menu Opens During Cruise

I wanted to see if anyone has run into this problem and if they have any suggestions about how to fix it. I play MSFS 2020 on Xbox Series X. I have all of the latest updates installed. This has only happened when flying the TBM. Basically, after creating a flight plan, taking off and arriving at my cruising altitude I usually leave the room and check on the sim occasionally. After maybe 30 minutes I come back and the menu screen is up. I’m able to exit the menu and continue flying but I automatically enter a flat spin and cannot recover. This has happened the last 2-3 times I’ve flown the TBM. I have no clue why this is happening.

Had this happen several times today on a long flight. When resuming, I didn’t experience the flat spin that you did though.

Interesting. I was on a flight from Michigan to Florida. I had this happen 3 times while flying over Ohio. I was able to recover the first two times by reducing throttle and hitting the level button. The third time I immediately over stressed the plane and the flight ended.

Check if your controller goes into standby mode and disconnects.

How do I check that? I don’t have this problem when flying jets. Wouldn’t the joystick going into standby mode affect all planes if that’s what was causing my problem.

The Xbox controller does indeed go into standby mode after a certain amount of time of not receiving an input when used wirelessly. I use an Xbox controller on my PC to control cameras. And I had to revert to using it wired because of this. In my case, it wouldn’t go to menu, but rather lock up the sim completely, sometimes even crashing it.

I suspect that the Xbox itself (vs the sim) will auto pause a title if it detects that connection to a controller has been lost.

Why it’s causing the plane to go into a spin on return though, I have no idea. That seems to be another issue on its own. But the root cause is definitely the

This definitely could be the problem. I forgot to mention that I’m using the T-Flight Hotas One. I’m guessing that it could go into sleep mode as well.

I wanted to post some updates about this problem that continues to occur. I believe I posted that I was using a T-Flight Hotas One but not that I have the Razer Turret for keyboard/mouse. Now the menu popping up during flight happens with any aircraft. It still enters into a flat spin as well. Any suggestions about what I can do would be great. Thanks.

I’m all for a better menu during cruise, even in Economy ..
