Agree with you and there are many screenshots showing live weather outside of METAR zones where we can see unrealistic weather/clouds. That clearly indicates that issues will not be fixed by just having an option to disable live METAR. All started with SU7 and METAR introduction but for sure they also modified the overall weather engine or the way Meteoblue data is ingested and interpreted by the sim, but we don’t know what those additional changes are. So the ask is to fix the Live weather engine in its globality. Some other threads exist to report issues outside of METAR zones like:
Other posts in the wishlist forum are requesting more and realistic cloud types. We had more at release but SU7 has reduced the variety to almost only 2, transparent cumulus most of the time or volcanic that hardly exist in the real life, unless having storms or fly in tropical zones.
Also the title of this post says that the Live weather is bugged in its globality, METAR is one of the issues but for sure there is more than 1 root cause, we’ll let the developers analyze what they are.
