Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 1.2.7.0 Patch #3 Discussion

Your controller settings are not stored remotely. I just tried a re-install and my controller settings are gone. The re-install did not fix the issues either.

You mean that bug filled, quality-control-less Linux that can’t even boot up going from a previous to current version with so many missing features once it does? That one? Except I don’t recall that happening and neither does anyone else.

Name 5 major features (akin to ATC) that worked in Win10 that don’t work in Win 11. Same for iOS.

Weird - I had the opposite experience. Controller settings weren’t lost after a reinstall, and the reinstall did fix my issue (unable to launch the sim).

Not at all, as I’ve said, there are anomalies within the opinions. This is just about statistics, not about who is the smartest or who is right or wrong. The evidence is very clear: out of 100 opinions, more than 90 are negative. It doesn’t matter which forum you visit or which platform you check; the overwhelming evidence speaks for itself, so arguing about it doesn’t even make sense.

It’s curious why they closed the surveys after the first day. Maybe they’re afraid of the opinions, or perhaps it’s just another meaningless assumption of mine… :joy:

Are you on XBox? On PC the directory was cleared after the uninstall. I can launch the game. It is when I am trying to select a mission down to loading the mission that the crashes happen. That is how I know the control settings were removed.

+1 to your post.
Flying Fenix + BATC (traffic included) + GSX + custom payware airports (msfs 2020 versions just dropped into 2024’s community) + VR (Reverb G2)
Lost may be 10% of fps vs. 2020 (same settings, mostly ultras), but 2024 very smooth and stable, and improved visuals (especially at night).
All flights successful (more than 15 so far), no CTD.
Annoying glitches yes, deal breakers not (so far, fingers crossed).

I’m on PC. Must be really frustrating to lose all control bindings. I was worried about that happening when I did the reinstall but was left without much choice since my sim was unable to launch and I was out of options.

The problem on XBox remains since the patch. The game will simply not launch

No update from Asobo or Mucrosoft.

Ok on pc, not launching in XBox

the ground textures are still low quality, the clouds quality is terrible…

PC user. That’s interesting - I’ve just started getting immediate CTDs after hitting ā€˜Ready to Fly’ !

To ensure that you have full control over your own library, available non-Microsoft ported content is disabled by default so you can choose what to have active in the simulator.

Seems even Microsoft content is disabled. All my 2020 attributions for Premium/Deluxe/Premium Deluxe were disabled.

Confusingly trying to reactivate them then gave me tons of warnings that 2024 content would be disabled so now I’m not sure what to do.

I am not too worried about losing the control settings. I did not know how they worked when I set them up the first time. I will be able to set them up better now.

My main concern is them fixing the issues loading the missions. I suspect it is communications issues between the server and client.

If you were a day 1 user, have you reinstalled?

Probably because they’re FS2020 addons and not FS2024 addons. If you have a look for their FS2024 equivalents, they should be installed, if you have one of the higher versions.

yes i reinstalled the sim more than 3 times

For 2024 I only have the base version. But I was attributed the expanded versions from my 2020 account.

Ah OK, then that sounds like another one for the list. :frowning:

Either way you would think it is logical that in the case of the user having two versions of an addon, the 2024 version would supersede the 2020 version, not the other way around :frowning:

I’d actually seen the disabled FS2020 addons and thought it looked odd, but then found the FS2024 ones, which were enabled, so I left well alone.
