THE PLUSES – On the occaisions when I can actually get into FS2024, it appears to make more efficient use of my CPU and GPU. In some places, (e.g. in St. Lucia in the Caribbean) the default topography, and vegitation seems greatly improved.
As a “Virtual Tourist” user type, I love the walk around feature and am intrigued by FS2024’s potential when combined with products like Time Machine Design’s Hadrian’s Wall 180, Aerographer’s Giza Pyramid Complex, or a port of Byzantium 1200.
THE MINUSES – There are lots of bugs. That’s to be expected with any complicated new product. But as someone has had to manage a number of IT projects, I don’t understand why MS-Asobo made the launch so difficult and risky. Why did it not stagger the launch by region to test its servers and streaming tech? Why did it make bug-spotting and fixing more challenging by throwing FS2020 marketplace add-ons into the mix? I see scenery issues in London, Rome, New York, and Toronto. But I can’t tell if they are due to a) FS2024 bugs, b) deficiencies in my FS2020 market-place add-on, or c) conflicts between them.
HELPFULL SUGGESTION – Make bug spotting and troubleshooting easier by releasing an update ASAP that turns off all FS2020 marketplace add-ons and provides users with a means of turning them on idividually.
