Sadly there will be enough people preordering MSFS 2028.
I dunno. I am seeing and hearing more and more frustration expressed from under delivered launches of video games.
I get the sense the consumer is pretty sick of it.
Iād really be happy to see it go that direction.
I have lost all my credits and reputation in MSFS2024 due to my aircraft crashing before I have a chance to start the mission. How are you going to remedy this? This game is absolutely broken and this is beyond ridiculous. All my hours of getting credits to start my own company is all down the drain. I canāt even buy a new aircraft because I have no credits. You cannot make any decent credits unless you own your own company. I refuse to play your game and at this point I am demanding a full refund for a broken game. You guys need to compensate every single one of us that paid for a broken game and wasted our time on this crud.
Dear MS/Asobo,
it is a shame what you delivered here. I never expected a fully polished sim, as itās just too complex a system to have everything perfect. But the current state of the sim is just a void of nothing. About 14 months ago, I reinstalled MSFS2020 and gave it again a try. And I was hooked. I fired the sim up as often as I could. I racked up hours and hours of flight. And all this time in 2020 really made me think sometimes if I should start learning to fly in real life. I was asking myself if my career in software development was the right one all those years ago and if I would not have been more happy had I chosen to become a pilot in my youth. You triggered exactly what you told the whole world that you want to trigger with MSFS2024.
I was stoked⦠I couldnāt wait to install and fly in MSFS2024. I was lucky to get a slot in the alpha test last year, and this was already giving me sooooo much hope of an even better sim. When this was an alpha, I thought, as a software dev by profession and beta tester for a company building planes for MSFS, that the release version would blow us away.
Oh ā ā ā ā it⦠it did. But in a way as if I were watching the last part of Oppenheimer without welder glasses, looking directly into the fire of the abyss.
Giving your users 4 planes as compensation is a joke. This is digital data. Sure⦠you wonāt get a few bucks more, as they will not be sold. But you get enough in the future from all the sales of 3rd party and own developments. And itās a minimal, calculated loss. You only have to pay for the planes once (for developing them) but all the copies have no further costs for you. So what will be the āloss,ā your sacrifice? A few thousand bucks⦠I guess itās not even worth a remark in the annual report.
And I guess the planes will be all some easy ones, like those Brazilian ones. Nothing fancy, study level not to mention. Sorry, but this is in NO WAY a compensation for the stuff you delivered.
Iām sorry for all the devs at Asobo/MS that truly want to bring us a great sim, and I truly believe if they would have had a vote, they would have postponed the release. I do hope these poor souls wonāt get burned out totally.
And to you MS/Asobo as a company⦠to get back to my beginning: Currently, Iām starting to feel more and more a negative feeling growing in my guts to even start the sim. And not only 2024⦠no, you really managed to even throw 2020 under the bus for me. Currently, I wouldnāt think about becoming a pilot. Iām currently doing more and more other stuff instead of flying around the world and seeing all the wonders of it. You did it and poisoned the good vibes of flying in the sim, be it 2024 or 2020, where itās spilling over.
Career mode not playable, missions bugged into oblivion, planes unflyable and unstable, even setting up the controllers is not working correctly, and all the other stuff. The whole sim from start to end is a complete work in progress, and as a dev I would slap a big ALPHA behind the version number. For a dev, this state is not even a real beta⦠and no dev with a few brain cells left unburned would even think about calling it a release candidate or⦠heck⦠a release/production version.
You are burning your reputation here faster than a new yearās rocket fuse. If the first ābigā update that is coming is not a real big improvement of the basic functions, then you cannot be saved. Forget content and cosmetics. Your first and highest priority should be to get ALL planes working fully and not with some cosmetic hot fix MacGyver-style patches (like finally enabling the copilot side controls in the PC24 - thatās no fix as long as the systems behind them are not working properly, like cabin pressure, etc. - same failure in the PC12). Bumps on runways and taxiways that just kill you and crash your plane. No lights for night flying and so on⦠you surely have a longer and more accurate list of fails and errors.
If you do not fix those major bugs and missing features and content that you sold to us, then itās just nothing short of fraud and unfulfilled product features.
(Excuse my yelling now but I have to vent somehow) BUT THE BIGGEST DISSERVICE YOU PROVIDED WITH 2024 IS THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF WHAT YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE⦠I can think of no one who would get interested so much into aviation using MSFS2024 to start a real world career in flying.
I bet my comment will get lost in the big sea of the comments and postings of the MSFS forum, and maybe itās just my last hope to vent here and have a last glimmer of hope that somehow these few lines reach someone higher up at MS/Asobo to steer the development into the right direction away from more content that no one will have fun using as everything else is broken and more toward getting the sim fixed⦠at least for a short amount of time until it truly is usable.
Thanks to everyone that was brave enough to read all my whining here. I do hope itās working better for you. And to everyone else⦠letās hope for a better future. And to all poor Asobo/MS devs⦠stay strong, we know you could do better, but I guess the bean counters donāt let you.
Continuing to monitor the topic and will hold off purchasing to avoid frustration. Iām very happy with MSFS 2020. It continues to play well.
I intend to purchase MSFS 2024 and a better gaming rig eventually. Right now, I will hold off on both. Iām fairly sure it will be at least 3 months, but I suspect it will be at least 6 months to a year. RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 TI do look promising. I can see them improving MSFS 2020 and eventually MSFS 2024 when they work on the bugs and streaming server issues.
Iāll be shocked there isnāt a marketplace option to buy credits when it releases. The career system is likely meant to be a long hard slog or buy credits to progress quicker. Probably designed that way.
Blaming Xbox users for this mess is wrong and I have to disagree with you.
We are all in this together.
The truth is that if MSFS is only able to perform properly on a few very high end gaming PC rigs that most of us cannot afford, there wonāt be a sim in a few years.
If that is the idea behind career mode Iām gonna shelf it indefinitely and find a different hobby. They should remove āsimulatorā from the title if that is the intention. That being said, it does give Microsoft Flight vibes . I hope you are wrong
.
Itās a common approach to generating income from other games no? Itās also why we may never get to do the banner activities that the sim is showcasing without enough slow progress/perseverance or via fast track bought via sim credits.
Well I paid for the new content that was advertised, not knowing they were locked behind a grinding and very bugged career mode. It still has āsimulatorā in the title so I keep my hopes up they will make missions available outside career mode. If not, well, that is gonna be the last cent I ever spend on this.
And Msfs2020 started being very unreliable⦠Coincidence?
If so, it will be interesting to see how MS market this.
People are not stupid and making a career so hard as to require credits to easily progress is pretty blatant and could lead to some backlash in a sim which has already received more than its fair share of backlash.
There are also a lot of good third party career addons already available too for reasonable one-off fees or even free.
Shark Cards might work in GTA V where there are few other alternatives to quickly progress but in a sim which already has good alternatives?
But it does make me wonder why they chose to lock all the new exciting content behind the career mode in the first place. They must have a reason for doing so or they simply didnāt think it through? The whole thing does seem to be hastily slapped together without much thought going into anything, so both option are plausible.
I hope for the latter to be true. Making money in the form of selling credits to progress quicker would likely mean the whole thing was made long and grinding on purpose. That would be a new low and in my opinion it would lose the āsimulatorā title.
Time will tell
Yes, not saying youāre wrong.
It is possible especially when you see how much Rockstar have raked in over the years.
How it would go down though is another matter.
Whether MS would be really bothered about customers reactions is yet another as long as there is further potential for fresh money, higher profits and larger bonuses.
Still experiencing garbage aircraft movement such as steering and thrust control on the Xbsx, and thatās even after assigning the relevant buttons.
The whole concept if āstreamingā items in the game has failed imo. Iād honestly just prefer a 200gig game to download.
And where are the options from the 2020 game like āTravel toā?
Still no sign of some of my previously purchased content like the Vulcan bomber. This gamr should not have been released at all. Iād rather you did a madden 96 and left it a year to due poor production, to then come out with an actually acceptable level of simulator.
This weekend in landed a Longitude in Nice, on a runway⦠well, I am actually not sure if I landed on the runway becuase the entire airport was just a mess of blurry ground textures !
As it was said above: this whole experiment in data streaming and cloud operations is more or less a failure.
I tried career mode for two flights at the beginning. I reset it and have not looked back. After reading all of the problems with the bugs, credit system, crash or minor incidents resulting in unrealistic penalties, I find the whole career mode to be a mess. Imagine having lost all your credits before you even start a mission as in an earlier post by DriiftForce.
There should be no credit system or penalties(maybe a warning, slap on the wrist and back to the game).
This is not realistic at all and seems completely childish. In the real world if you keep pranging aircraft or endangering your passengers you would be washed out and not hirable.
After reading much of this post I have no desire to even try career mode.
- Get rid of credits
- Stop with the penalties
- If there is a crash/incident and MS/Asobo need to record it, then do it in the background or career logbook.
- Fix the bugs and just let everyone enjoy a career to the best of there abilities as this must be more than a frustration to everyone trying Career Mode.
No wonder I just want to do free flight in Military, GA and some of the aircraft that work properly. We need all of the default aircraft and helicopters fixed with pilots and crew visible and functional.
I do like what they are trying to do and would like to try Career Mode but not at this time. Here is a few screenshots to remind us of what is possible.
Free flight career is fun for now.
Iām trying to understand the workings of the sim. Please donāt slam me as Iām not capable of discussing much on the tech aspect of PC. Today, after the last update, my community folder became inactive somehow. I was able to get it back through reading here and plundering through. Afterwards, I decided to ck the settings in 2024, and noticed a couple that were changed. Frame gen, which I donāt use, was on, and Vsync was off, which I usually have on. I left it as it was, except I turned frame gen off as well. When I restarted the PC and opened 2024, I went to Dev mode and noticed my numbers were way higher in frames than what Iām used to seeing there. Mainthread /GPU latency seems much better. Sim was smooth as butter in FF. Who/how changed um? Iāve only used the Optimized settings through Nvidia CP since download, minus the two I referenced. Performance is as good as it has been for me since Nov 19. No Red, all green,Fps stellar. latency low. Iām stumped as to why, but like it so far. How does this happen? Thanks
It sounds like your user settings were reset somehow. These include where your Community folder location is, as well as your graphics settings and a few other things.
I cannot tell you why this happens, but there are many posts in this forum with people reporting this happening to them ā in both 2020 and 2024 ā so it isnāt some new phenomenon.
