Yeaaaah.. Asobo/MS shot themselves in the foot with this “stream everything” nonsense. So glad I didn’t preorder this disaster.
After waiting a night for nothing, finally this morning the simulation starts (my 36 candles burnt out the day before must have been used for something!!).
And what a disappointment, full of bugs; impossible to reconfigure the VR keys (why have to modify???), pink texture on planes that the simulation itself loads… I have 1gb/s with fiber and it gives me all the 5 minutes show that the network is bad… The mapping of the keys in the control panel is frankly shoddy for my part, how can you make it complicated when you can make it simple??
I’m lucky I have spadnext which works fine (but I have to remap keys…).
Positive point; the multithread works, my CPU has a load gain it goes up with this simulation to 40-45% with FS2020 I was at 30.
The GPU remains at 85-95 the same.
For the same PC configuration, I lose 5 to 10 FPS under my 3 screens, under VR 10 fps…
Positive point: in VR even with 10 fps less I remain with approximately the same graphic quality but slightly more fluid (directx12?), but not enough to blow my mind…
Negative point, the menus block and take time to display (I have a Ryzen 7 5800x, an RTX 2080 super 8 GB, 32 GB of ram, I run at 70 under cyberpunk almost at full speed…), it there is nothing complicated it seems to me that displaying a menu page ???..
Positive point; it works entirely live X12
Negative point; I had to restart the PC twice, completely blocked by FS2024…never happened with the old one!
So this version is clearly not finished, with a launch…how can I say chaotic! once again I wonder about the testers in there??? if he plays on rtx 4090 with 64 GB of ram and a ryzen 9… this is not the case for the rest of the world!
Come on, quickly release a patch that finally finishes this simulation…
developer stream tonight? Twitch
Do we have some news from them for today? Things are slowing down again as it gets busier. I don’t understand why they are not scaling up their cloud servers, they have virtually unlimited data center resources all around the world.
The first weeks of such a gigantic release must feel horrible for you guys, especially the community managers. I can only imagine how frustrating it is to read through all these more or less understanding posts. And no it doesn’t work for me as well yet. I didn’t expect anyways and my patience is pretty much limitless to wait for this to be figured.
Be asured there’s more love out there for you and what you’re doing than not. I 'm sending some
to ya’ll
Got past it by using a vpn to a different region (am in UK). But even after doing that the experience is horrible so far. Menu’s sticking, flight training options not working, flight experiences loading with no place and terrible graphics, hanging at loading flight, stuck outside the plane and camera changes not working. Absolutely terrible first experience Microsoft. I’ll be sticking with 2020 until you sort this out.
Shocking from such a huge company. I can get on on series x but can’t fly doesn’t even load a flight or task
Hey your ping is very bad ![]()

At least we now know why there was no footage pre launch of the sim for the Xbox.
but just had a stress free hop over the uk in the winter sun. loaded quickly in one of my favourite aircraft and as a fossil i have not used a better flight sim. of course talking about 2020 which i am glad is the one that i brought. will uninstall my gamepass 2024 and see if you unpaid beta testers can rescue this , and rename it MSFS 2025
My experience with the sim… mmm a loooooong queuing and waiting mess… nothing less +12h after official launch.
I also requested a refund. It works. See you when MSFS works properly.
Get this sim off of the cloud! Put out an apology and state you got it wrong. I’m okay with using 2tb for my community folder because I wont be getting every single payware I will be getting what I want to use wich wont use up nearly enough space.
My current 2020 is running so smoothly on my setup with 0 issues, 2024 could have been the same!
I want the team to come.out and say okay give us a week make being on a cloud server OPTIONAL to those who run lower end PC’s.
My internet connection is incredible i’m running starlink and I have never had a problem with bandwith, these cloud servers are a joke and need to be dropped!
I have taken time out of work for a honny I love and instead im.sat here angry and frustrated at the lack of support lack of communication. I have paid £200 for what looks like Flight Simulator 98. Unnaceptable.
I will give it one more try this evening. If it doesn‘t work I will ask for refund.
No more excuses accepted!
Can’t say I’ve had any better luck. Managed to get into the Customisation menu and got this:
After that tired to go for a flight and the walk around camera was inside my avatars shoes and into the ground.
It then promptly crashed and I haven’t been able to get back in since. ![]()
So not the greatest start to my MS2024 journey.
Same, I have 2 gigabit internet and saw the low internet bandwidth message multiple times. Often times the livery on the plane would be halfway loaded onto the aircraft. Or there would be missing textures such as the wheels would be white in color. This cloud streaming idea was a mistake. I do see the potential in the sim though. Flight model is greatly improved and cou performance is much better
Couldn’t have said it better. Cloud streaming needs to be optional, not mandatory. Especially for PC users.
My GOD is worst and worst. After hours trying to make a flight I could go in. Cessna has no engine sound and terrain detail is so ugly that I could not fly at all. Objects are not in the correct place. It’s making me missing the 2020 version and the better graphics.
this ******** piece of software has messed up my complete fs2020 install I cant even play fs2020 anymore it wants to download the whole thing again thanks Asobo for nothing
Wow, that looks like a meme that you made!
How apropos!
