Microsoft Flight Simulator add-on sales and discounts

I reckon this is so that existing users of V1 do not feel let down by the lack of a specific discount for them on the new version (which is a complete rebuild rather than just an upgrade according to Pyreegue). Worked for me - bought the new one straight away, and why wouldn’t you at that price! I spent about the same on Tel Aviv in the current sales and am already kind of regretting that because the quality is quite poor for something from the “Mega Airport” series. I just wanted a destination halfway between Europe and Dubai to fly into.

Yeah, I wanted this too so went with FT’s Athens. Cold do with a rendition of Larnaca that ISN’T by Justsim!

Just picked this up from their site, no discount code for me, came to £11.17 + £2.23 tax, £13.40 in total just in case the extra £2.40 sways you :winking_face_with_tongue:

£11 is the price I’d pay for a new airport I don’t already have. I will stay on V1.

Yes same here. He does great stuff (the best) but the current Edinburgh that I own is already great enough for me. I hope this isn’t the start of him “updating” all the airports and charging again for them?

On the contrary. I hope Belfast and Glasgow gets the same treatment.
Then Birmingham perhaps. These are important stops for EasyJet etc.

This update is fantastic so more to come we hope.

Btw Easyjetsimpilot has an additional discount code so it got even cheaper

Could you (would you) share that code with us? It may be a violation of the CoC (I have no idea.) Or maybe the dev wouldn’t want that?

Just thinking out loud here. Having an extra discount might motivate me to buy more of their products. But that’s not my call…

Just watch his video to support him and you will find it in the notes. Although I guess he gets something for it anyway.

I thought about this quite a bit. I also have V1 and while I would like an improvement and for new buyers with this discount it’s an absolute steal, as an upgrade it’s much less tempting.

I almost never buy airports at full price, I wait until there’s a good discount. I’m going to spend the same amount of money in total but I’m going to get a lot more choice in where I can fly, and that is most important to me. The developers in total are not earning less from me, although maybe it’s spread out over more developers on average.

So while the airport may be a complete ete rebuild, to me it’s an upgrade because the V1 I have is already pretty good. And for the replacement price I can get another major airport on discount from the likes of Inibuilds.

What finally made my decision was the A/B sliders on contrail, it’s great they do this as it really helps to see the product differences. The new one looks absolutely stunning, no disputes there, but it also comes at about a 20% fps loss and I don’t need any fps loss at the moment, there’s not a single airport I can think of where I get more fps than I need while running good graphics settings and FSLTL.

What EXACTLY do you fly in and out of Edinburgh?? :joy::joy:

LOL! It’s OK, I don’t need to use the runways so I’m not holding any important international flights up

I bought it last night. It is visually stunning, to be fair. Same sort of league as Jo Erlend Sund’s Oslo, which I think was to be expected. But as others have said, I’d rather see a completely new airport than a rework — which is why I’m very much looking forward to EGBB. Presumably that project is almost complete and he’s just waiting for the interior work to conclude.

I think they’re waiting for the real life building work at EGBB to finish

I’ve been off the heli kick for a while but that CH47 is actually cheaper with the Supercarrier add on (since I have the original SC) than the heli alone, there’s no way I’m not buying it. I’ll find time.

The Just Flight Hawk T1/A is on sale for $25.99 at the Contrail shop.

Been wanting this one since release but couldn’t justify $50 given I already had the IFE T-45.

Is the JF Hawk the ‘really good one’? Does it have a working tail hook? I was thinking about getting a primary trainer that works with super carrier pro.

I wish they all came with the integrated tail hook and cat launch the GF Wildcat has. You can use the Lexington class and you still have to land it fair for the tailhook to work. Kinda fun at Saba too …

All good points and totally understandable. As a V1 owner (who admittedly also already got a lot of use out of it) I would not have bought this either if it wasn’t by Pyreegue but say Orbx instead. I just felt that the dedication to the caft warranted continued support. FPS is not an issue on my PC after I was fortunate enough to afford a major upgrade last year (eg I remember all the hoohaa about Christchurch but I never had any problems with it). And as I said, Ben Gurion for example even at discount looks atrocious compared to this new Edinburgh, so it is nice to get something state-of-the-art for the same money for a change.

I completely agree with your reasoning too, quite fair.

What is this agreement and concordance? Where is the arguing and frustration? What is the internet coming to when people can have a reasonable discussion and agree on things?:joy:

IMHO they’re both good, but the JF is more “study level.” That said, the IndiaFoxtEcho T-45C Goshawk is really nice too. The JF Hawk T1/A is an analog cockpit, the T-45C is digital.

However, if you want a carrier plane, the IFE T-45C is the one you want. The JustFlight Hawk is land-based and isn’t carrier-capable.
