Microsoft flight simulator please insert disk

Since today I recieve the following error while owning this game by game pass without the possibility to insert a disk. Anyone know how to fix this?

I’ve seen that a few times with different games; a reboot usually fixes it.

I’ve done that plenty off times now without the results I want.

Found that website as well and their solutions didn’t work. It’s so weird.

Is this Steam, Microsoft Store or Game Pass? If the former two, did you buy through the store directly or from a third-party marketplace? If Game Pass, I’d be tempted to initially logon/logoff, and then consider a reinstall. You only need to reinstall the base game, not all of the content (which should be stored elsewhere), so it should only be a relatively small download.

That happened to me. I followed all the suggestions in that post and no luck.
I ended up getting a refund from the Microsoft store and then bought it on Steam. Works ok now.
I was pretty â– â– â– â– â– â–  at this random error.

I own Xbox Game pass. So are you saying the “community” folder would not get deleted when doing a reinstallation?

Maybe an Authenticator service is down?

It’s ridiculous. Why does Asobo dont priorities this problem and fix it? It happens way to much.

Luckily I’ve fixed the problem for now. Just logging off and back in the Xbox app did the trick. It was kind of a authorisation problem. Still ridiculous @PopsMcDaddyo

It’s probably not Asobo, the Microsoft store and all its xbox services/apps are a buggy mess

This happened to me once (I bought from the MS store). A simple restart of the sim did the trick.

I didn’t have the Xbox app at the time, and still don’t, apart from briefly recently to download the recent update.

Check your firewall settings. I get that message when I open the game immediately after booting up as the firewall still loads and blocks the game from accessing the internet.

it’s probably right, but it can be Asobo’s stuff if net cod wasn’t ready to new quantity of users steam+store+pass+xbox

I am also having the “Please insert Microsoft Flight Simulator game disk” issue. I bought from the Microsoft Store. First time encountering this problem. Tried the solution suggested by Ashillias and found that I am unable to log in to Xbox app. Rebooted several times. Rebooted network.
Any further suggestions?

Microsoft is at fault for much of the mess in this game, but this one is on Asobo too. There’s absolutely no reason a user of the downloaded version should ever see an “insert disc” error message. That’s bad error handling from the Asobo devs.
