Microsoft Flight Simulator will run at 30fps on consoles (more on TVs supporting Variable Refresh Rate)

Exactly, thats why the price argument is obsolet. Thats what im saying…

Minus the last sentence. A console is a standardized mass product. Nothing „purpose built“ to set records…

Nobody buys a 2000$ PC only to play MSFS… And if, he might be very dedicated and is using multi monitor setup and very dedicated hardware. You cant compare the price of a console vs PC and act like the only thing a PC can do is playing a video game…

I don’t care if you own an Xbox, but I do care if Xbox players start posting false things about Xbox or PC. 4K 60 will be impossible on any Xbox. That’s a fact. It’s nearly impossible on a $5000 PC. DX12 might change that, but as of now that’s a fact. Xbox players tend to spout information about PCs without actually knowing what they’re talking about.

There will be a beta test of the Xbox/DX12 optimisations. They’re going to pick 300 people from a list of whoever puts their name down. People who have tested for Asobo before will automatically get in on the beta.

My guess is it’ll happen in early July

Who knows, we’ll learn more on the 30th of June dev Q&A.

I have game pass ultimate, however have paid the discounted price for the premium deluxe version.

It would be nice for those who have shown commitment with a paid purchase get some kind of early access or access to beta.

Watch this space I guess.

Generalised sweeping statements help no one either…

What’s with all the negativity on here.

We need an Xbox specific category, to stop all this Xbox vs PC stuff.

Yeah i hope so too. Early access to the game is much appreciated!

Yeah i understand what you mean. I am not a part of that is all I can say, but I can definitely understand your frustration

As far as I follow the recent talks about DX12 and XBOX optimizations which we hope to get end of July, I mainly hear/read about CPU side improvements and memory as well. That is absolutely fine. I will really enjoy these gains like all of us. (I know DX12 wont be a miracle in terms of perf.)

I wonder if we may expect any positives on the GPU side ? Let me explain why I’am asking this ? As I checked Xbox hardware from web it seems that RTX2080 Super is the equivalent of Xbox GPU and they claimed to have 4K 30 FPS as base with that. I don’t know if it means on Ultra or customized settings but lets hope high setting as an average reference. Most of us below RTX 3080ti level can’t afford that 30 FPS with 4K. Lets say with RTX3070 or similars, especially low flying or on ground even on customized settings it really goes below 30’s most of the time. I don’t know why but something really affects on ground (on even default airports) So if Xbox gonna stay on this level of perf. consistently should we expect smth for our GPU’s as an improvement ? (Considering not limited by CPU) Does anybody catch anything about this issue ? Is my positive mentality about GPU side expectations make sense ? Or am I completely wrong ? I know we don’t have numbers or official statements but just take it as a talk on moment

Kind regards.

Hahahahaha…speak for yourself. I’ve had a dedicated gaming PC, with nothing else on it for decades. All the other stuff goes on the family PC, not my gaming PC.

And the only game you play is MSFS?
That is what @HXArdito said…

And then goes on to say…

If the gaming computer you have had for decades has nothing on it except MSFS and you use it to run a home cockpit with multi-monitors then you may laugh. Otherwise he is correct in a general sense and we can nip the argument here.

My desktop PC (only) cost about $ 3500, and I use it exclusively for MSFS, I use a Macbook Pro for all other stuff.

Anyone know the different visual output between the Series S and Series X?

I heard that the Series S will output at 1080p and the Series X at 4K.

However, what about other visual elements? Would the graphics quality be the different between both consoles, or is the resolution the only change? Not sure if anybody has heard anything.

Just speculating at this stage because I believe the screenshots/trailers released are only on the Series X version.

Thing is, the assumption is untrue. It’s not only home cockpits. This forum is filled with questions about reinstalls, reuse of the MSFS license on a fresh PC, etcetera. Keep in mind an RTX 3080 board is about the same price range as a complete XBox-X device..

People are prepared to invest, to be able to run MSFS properly ! Only they don’t invest that money in Microsoft products, and they won’t buy a new license. Last year, there were a lot of users owning 1650 boards or MX-series, who had to replace or upgrade their PC’s especially because of MSFS.

Runs on my computer too with 30FPS and I am not turning down the graphics settings. That´s enough FPS because graphics quality and rendering distance and shaders and eye-candy is more important than sacrificing graphics quality for an FPS-overkill the human eye cannot notice anyway.

I am glad that XBox users will get the best graphics quality and the best eye candy and the most beautyful landscape scenery presented on their screen, instead of all the calculating power of the new XBox wasted for some “12k 150fps” nonsense.
