ATR is still in the works guys! News will come, when news is ready Working to make it A1 quality - thank you for your patience !
It’s like a good wine
Take the time you need to develop a great airplane.
It’s interesting to see that neither Asobo nor Milviz are keeping their cards close to their chest, so they haven’t released any news on their respective ATRs in quite some time. It’s a bit like the development of new automobiles. You don’t show much, just not to give away any internas to the competitor.
Only with the prototype is revealed what the customer can expect. In the case of the ATR, that would be a beta at some point.
I suspect that we will be able to fly the ATR in Q1/23. Although … it would indeed be a nice Christmas present
Odd there’s an “atr test” on Steam depots showing
Might be part of SU11 beta
While this would likely be a day one purchase for me, I am starting to get concerned about Milviz/Blackbird’s ability to deliver on their promises. If you look at their currently released aircraft they are all waiting for updates - some for months now. Not sure if all their resources are tied up with the Beaver for the anniversary edition, or that now the company has split into two entities they just don’t have the resources full stop.
Yes, this is now beginning to be a concern for me too and like yourself is putting me off buying any further new products
Need to stop being impatient, one of their main Devs was off ill, would you rather they do what some other Devs did and sent out a 3/4s finished product and patch it week after week till everyone stopped complaining or get it right then release it and uphold there reputation as a quality developer?
If su10s only just dropped it would make since they make sure everything is working correctly on there before any release, no one wants a release only for a Dev to say oh we know about that it will be sorted on the next update as we’ve seen on here before…
I don’t remember seeing milviz say they promise to release y plane on this date and z plane on that date? As they keep saying they’ll be out when there as good as they can be
As you will, but totally disagree.
My comment still stands!!
Doesn’t really answer what’s happened to part 2 of the Porter, sure the dev off sick may have affected the 310 update. But since the company split there’s been a definite drop in dev updates and communication, like I said maybe they’re pouring everything into the Beaver at the moment, but we don’t know, all we know is there hasn’t been any aircraft updates for a while now.
Reputations take time to be earned but can be lost quickly.
Don’t forget su10 got put back a few weeks can’t see any decent Dev dropping before they knew what version of su10 was getting out out as final release… Who knows what could of got changed during the beta versions. Getting a bit off topic now for this post anyway.
I’m patiently waiting for their excellent releases and updates to drop
Yes, well said and I absolutely agree with you
It just seems to me that we have all been very patient as it is. It’s that long since the Porter was first launched with a promise of Stage 2 (or for an update for the 310) that I have now frankly lost interest and moved on to other ac.
Anyway, each to their own I suppose. Everybody is quite able to make their own decisions and it’s okay to have a different view. No problems with that
Nothing has changed about our development process with our rebrand to Blackbird Sims. We’re still the same team, same developers, and same quality. Outside a new name and logo, we’re still US. We’ve always put fourth quality over fast dev times, so if something takes a bit of time to come out, know that its because we wouldn’t release a half baked product.
Im totally down with that… Gosh if only I lived in one of those 16 odd states or that massive 53rd state of the US north of Montana… (I’m scottish kiwi so you get two free shots Canada… 8th state of Australia and "a part of England…)
Hell… I’m totally down if you guys are half baked doing this product as that always brings out the absolute dedication to your work… even if it does take a wee bit longer than usual🤔
Thankfully we have some amazing products now available to us, to keep our shot termed minds occupied while this (A)bsolutley (T)remendous (R)evolutionay 72-600 of the finest is baking in the milviz oven…
When we are all down off our hardcore PMDG, Fenix, Candero (if you are really desperate) or what ever is your go to fix…!!!
By the time the ATR has finished baking in the oven, we will be ready to mellow out on some regional short haul and domestic “Island” hopping flights in our Hawian shirts listening to some reggae
Don’t forget sr71 is baking aswell in the milviz oven gonna be some good stuff out soon
I think a lot of developers got stopped dead in their tracks by the SU10 delay. Milviz/Bbird is just one of them. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the Beaver was taking priority, as it has a VERY specific deadline to meet, whereas the other projects and updates can be released whenever they feel they’re ready.
I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt. And it’s not like the ones waiting for updates are completely nonfunctional…
You can take your time and still inform the community though, you don’t have to be completely silent, just look at what Bluebird Simulations is doing even though their product isn’t slotted to release until deep next year they still keep there supporters in the loop.
True that but also keep in Mind Bluebird is working on a 757 and so far I would say it’s the only dev working on that aircraft. For the ATR we have at least 2 dev teams which results in competition and well you dont want to show what you have if your counterpart also keeps everything as a secret.
Keep in mind the way A32NX is done now will never support ATC since the plan can only be loaded via Simbrief integration or import and no arrival airport can also be set in the sim. This means zero ATC support. We have new traffic coming in SU11 we also have a new traffic mod and third party traffic system coming.
Either way you should let users decide if they want to use ATC and or put a flight plan in the default planner. It should never hamper the flight by programming the same route into MFS with the same database and or fixes etc. It just lets the sim know where you are going. Coding that out would be a mistake.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean, but you can both load a Simbrief flightplan as a MSFS-flightplan to ‘tell the sim where you are going’ (via import flightplan), and you can use a default MSFS flightplan in your A32NX when inputting it manually (as you would real life, when not downlink’ing a dispatcher flight plan).
