I mean, it’s a meme at this point. MilViz would 100% be better off not even making announcements. It’s anti-hype at this point.
You’re definitely not alone in it. At this point I would have rather the PC-6 been delayed entirely until the analog version was done. I only bought it for the analog, so a year later I still haven’t received what I was told would be included with my purchase shortly after release. A solid project manager would be very helpful.
It’s all true what you write. When I commented about selling unfinished products in another tread, or developers making promises for the future, asking for money first and to deliver later (referring to the release of the Porter), I got quite a stiff guarantee that it would be finished soon because apparently the project was already started since the announcement of MSFS2020. Well… there’s close-to-eleven updates of the sim now, not so much on the product you bought with expectations raised surrounding the stage one purchase.
Now I don’t wanna say I told you so, but I told you so.
Lastly, I think the ‘we never set a hard date and soft expectations are worth nothing’ a bit …well overly and needlessly legalized. On my side of the Atlantic it isn’t even true. When a party repeats claims, of which the receiver could (and would) expect that the party holds authority with regards to making such claims, legality vis-à-vis that claim comes into effect automatically and opens the way for legal action. So raising expectations will have you bound by the law. I wouldn’t send it to court personally, but the spirit of the law is quite clear on the practice itself: sellers of products shouldn’t be doing it lightly.
P.S. I did respect the gentleman’s request not to buy any of his products. Least I could do.
I’d say everything is pretty clear.
Just uninstalled my PC-6.
Feel better now?
FAIR WARNING!!!: The release of the Phase II Pc-6 is now imminent. This means that, as soon as the product is released, the price of the existing package will rise to $34.99 USD. Note that because the marketplace does take a bit of time in terms of getting the products on line, the price will rise there but the actual product will not arrive at the same time as the one on our store or Orbx.
For those who bought it direct from us, you will receive an email letting you know that it’s been released and how/where to download it. It will also be released on our support forums for those who are registered. For those who got it from Orbx, I believe they do the same, in terms of an email.
For those who purchased it from the marketplace, once it’s released, you will be able to update it easily from there.
Thank you for your patience on this. It’s been a rough go for us on this one but totally worth it.
If you have access to the support forums, the Beta/RC (release candidate) will be released there, with any luck, by Friday but more likely early next week.
Looking forward to it! I’m sure it will be worth the wait. And let me extend an apology for our collective nagging. That just means we care!
I find it absolutely incredible the expectations people have for $15-$35 software products for a $60 game, as if their lives depend on the delivery of said products, and if their expectations are not met, we should bring Congress in to create laws over it and throw said developers in jail or something… Wow. (Obviously I’m being a bit hyperbolic here, but, not any more hyperbolic than the concerns some people seem to have).
I’m sorry, how do people have so much concern over something that costs less than the price a family pays for a meal at McDonald’s? Why create such anxiety for yourselves?
For what it’s worth Colin (not much, but maybe something), I was perfectly happy with what was released, and over the top appreciative that you’re delivering an upgrade to me at no cost to me. Thank you.
ah, good t hear I guess.
Forgive me for continuing to fly the G1000 version nevertheless, It’s the one I wanted right from the start
Well said. We have so many other planes to fly OR the glass cockpit one I don’t see what the big rush is. I know these guys never release anything they aren’t totally happy to — and that takes time. We should be thankful that they take this approach rather than the opposite of constant changes and “fixes” to a less than perfect product released too soon, as seems to be the norm in games dev these days. With some notable exceptions of course.
Looking forward to some watery and gauge-y shenanigans in this. I have a feeling I won’t fly anything else for weeks
Respectfully, I think you’re missing the point somewhat. It’s not so much about the product but about the practice.
Anyway, good that this product was now finished 1,5 days later. I always do love great coincidences. Would I be cynical, I would perhaps think that the product was long not cared about much despite only needing some last tweaks. But luckily I’m not so I don’t. Happy flying.
Can’t wait for the steam cockpit version. Floats I could take or leave since Asobo’s water physics are not there yet. I’m curious if any other changes/improvements are being considered for the plane overall along with Phase 2, not that it really needs much. It’s already one of the best planes in the sim.
Other than adding the stuff we said we would add, no. We’re not going to use the CFD stuff as, for us anyway, it’s not working well enough, at this time, to warrant redoing what already works quite nicely.
We may well revisit this but…
In terms of what’s in and what’s not… as soon as we hit the drop (later this week or early next), pics and comments will show up (i’m sure) in here about how good (or bad) it is, and what’s in/not.
That’s good to hear. I like the way she flies currently. I’d hate to go through a period of awkward flight dynamics while the base game adjusts this and that.
The beta range logic is the same of the stage 1? On the g1000 version Is very very far from the real one…
Sorry but actual pc-6 pilots say we’re right on the money.
The beta/RC will be sent out to testers and people who are on our support forums, next week.
