Missing "Ready to Fly" message in VR since SU13

Hi,

3 flights I yesterday this happened to me once, no way of reproducing it was just random.

I also have to question why this is not Bug Logged yet? It is very clearly a bug and should be treated as such.

Thanks

Having the same issue..Only way to fix is to start the flight on flat screen then switch to VR once loaded in…I think Asobo have giving up on VR also the Beta testers all seem to fly in pancake mode these days.

Not quite all, as I’m a VR beta tester.

But you’re right that Asobo have given up on VR. Jorg said it was because VR was a “minority” interest, but most things they work on are minority interest, many being even more minority than VR.

I really don’t understand how they set their priorities. They introduced a voting system for both bugs and wishes, but several items have remained unresolved on these lists since day 1, while other unrequested items have captured their attention.

I fly only in VR. According the Issue… the Restart flight button doesn´t work for you as mentioned several times in the thread? IMHO the fastest way as a Workaround and works for me pretty well.

//42 Flow has an option that says “skip ready to fly”. Has anyone tried it in VR, does it bypass this issue? Source

I’m not sure if the pro version is needed for it.

Also, pop-out panel manager apparently also has an option for it too apparently.

I use neither of these, but perhaps someone who does can share their experience in VR.

It would be nice if this existed as a standalone mod.

Been happening all the time in VR since latest updates. Usually fine for first flight. After that, seems to continue all the time. Restarting the flight usually fixes this.

Also, pressing tab for weather (and other functions) often does not show up, or sometimes is a mess. Fix is to go out of VR and pull this down in 2d mode and make adjustments. Back to VR and this usually is ok then.

Both issues are a bit of a pain, but at least I seem to beo ok with these workarounds.

Yes, that is another problem I have often. I can generally get it to respond by clicking near where the button should be, but even this is a bit hit or miss.

I suppose even real pilots have to use workarounds when they fly IRL, so having a mis-firing sim is good practice for a mis-firing aircraft. :smirk:

How much will it take to change this to “bug-logged”?
Do they even use VR?
This and the shutdown in VR bug are really annoying…

I think we would all appreciate a comment by the forum mods on this question.

This is a regression that occured in SU13 which still has not been addressed, or even admitted to be a bug.

I remember a question in one of the Q&A sessions in the livestream, when someone asked why MS/Asobo don’t give regressions in a beta priority for a fix. Jorg got affronted by this, saying “we do!” , with no further elaboration. This regression I’m afraid suggests that curt answer was inaccurate.

As horrible as it sounds I feel like the only way this gets attention is if it starts effecting 2d mode as well. So while I don’t wish for this bug to get even worse I seriously doubt they will even begin to investigate this for us vr users.

I’m afraid you’re probably right.

Jorg has put the seal of death on it when he dismissed VR as a minority interest, even though almost everything MS/Asobo do is catering to a minority interest of one sort or another. Are more than half the flight sim users buying each local legend, for example, or waiting anxiously for the South Korean language version? It seems some minority interests are more important than others.

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:

Ive been having the same issue just now I tried to fly the default cesna 172 in vr and the ready to fly wouldnt show up its been happening off and on for awhile now i dont understand why it hasnt been resolved yet

This is a problem which has now been around for about 3 months, so I think I can be forgiven for having a rant.

It is a regression which occured in SU13. According to Jorg (in one of the Q&A session), regressions like this during a beta are given priority for fixing during the beta. This obviously did not happen.

So now coming to the end of SU14 beta, and months after pointing out the problem (which I originally did in SU13 beta), there is still no sign of a fix.

This bug is not even recognised as such by the “team”, and is still only marked as “feedback logged”. There has been no feedback whatsoever from either Asobo directly, or the forum mods. It is just being completely ignored.

Despite their assurances of listening to their customers, and avidly reading the forum etc, it is clear they still pick and choose which problems they will concentrate on (normally the easy ones).

So what is the point of giving feedback as in this thread when it gets us nowhere?

For myself, I have recently invested in an alternative sim (which actually has regular developer input in the forum), and I find myself spending more time there than in here in FS2020. It’s not as fully-featured, but the VR actually works, and at least it is a chance to relax and avoid the work-arounds necessary in FS.

Just had it yesterday with SU14 latest beta…

. . . . and so did I !

I was going to write a response, but like you said, what’s the point. They can’t even be bothered to reproduce it and file it as a bug to throw it to the 400 other bug logged threads.

If it doesn’t effect xbox, it’s not a priority plain and simply.

Hi,

I’m simply disappointed it’s not fixed in SU14 beta but I’m not longer surprised, they have neglected VR and this is a fact, just look at the bugs that have remained after years of reporting, but it pointless talking about it as they obviously have no interest in fixing this side of their product.

Thanks

I have this issue too since a while. I usually start a flight in 2D, switch to the cockpit and THEN enter VR. This way I avoid stuck with no progress-button. Thats that, but to hear VR is ignored alltogether by Asobo really bothers me. Sure we are not the bulk of the userbase but still a valid portion of it. And usually very loyal with a lot of payed dlc etc. Not our fault MS has dropped VR. Is 2024 even supporting vr…?

Same here, the issue still present. :frowning:
