Birdstrike Sim – Helicopter Missions & Scenery (MSFS 2024)
Hello everyone!
This is the official thread where I’ll share all the helicopter missions and custom scenery developed under the Birdstrike Sim project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
The goal of this project is to recreate real locations in Spain that make sense for helicopter operations, especially SAR and mountain rescue missions.
This thread will include both missions and scenery, since many of the missions are designed around specific environments.
Mission Types
There are currently two types of missions available.
HPG H145 Tablet Missions
These missions are designed specifically for the Airbus H145 by Hype Performance Group using the Action Pack mission system.
They appear directly in the H145 tablet mission list.
Typical operations include:
- Mountain SAR
- Medevac
- Guardia Civil GREIM operations
- Firefighting
- VIP / tactical helicopter flights
Mission Hub Missions (Miltech Simulations)
These missions are designed using Miltech Mission Hub and can be flown with different helicopters, not only the H145.
Examples:
- H145
- EC135
- UH-1H
- other compatible helicopters
These missions are focused on immersive SAR scenarios and cinematic rescue operations.

Custom Scenery
Some missions require specific environments created for helicopter operations.
Benasque Scenery – Spanish Pyrenees

This scenery recreates several areas around Benasque, designed especially for mountain rescue operations inspired by Guardia Civil GREIM missions.
More areas north of the base will be added in future updates (v2).
Picos de Europa Scenery

This scenery recreates key locations in the Picos de Europa National Park, including areas around:
- Cabaña Verónica
- Picu Urriellu (Naranjo de Bulnes)
- Lagos de Covadonga access road
The environment is designed to support realistic helicopter SAR missions in high mountain terrain.
This scenery will continue to expand with new locations and rescue scenarios.
Mission Design Philosophy
Each mission aims to provide:
Real-world inspired locations across Spain- SAR, Medevac and mountain rescue operations
Realistic terrain and helicopter approaches
Briefings and contextual information
Images, maps and video trailers- Downloads available via Flightsim.to
The focus is on creating immersive helicopter operations in realistic environments.
