MkIX Spitfire bindings

Hi..I have just purchased the MkIX spitfire from flyingiron simulations and downlaoded and installed the sim…now, trying to get my spitfire pit to work with FS 2020 is not easy, I have a few small questions hopefully someone will be able to help me out.

1 Is there anyway to set a toggle switch for the flaps? In the real aircraft, the spitfire doesn’t have incremental flap settings and in my pit, I have the flaps set to press one button as I activate it…but cant see any controls to allow that in game

2 Brakes..the spitfire has a single brake axis the controls both sides of the aircraft braking..again, I can’t see any way to assign a single axis to control both brakes, this renders my control column a bit obsolete lolo

3 Rudder trim, this cannot be set to an axis { unless I cant see it lol } which makes the pit unusable for triming the rudder.

Look forward to hopefully getting some help in these issues as I really want to fly the spitfire lol

  1. You should be able to Bind the flaps to either Increase Flaps (for each increments) or Extend Flaps (which fully extends the flaps).

  2. You can assign both left and brake axis to a single axis control. You can double bind them.

  3. You can’t assign Rudder trim axis command to an axis?

Now all of these are generic commands, of course. The only issue here that we need to clear is that, does the aircraft uses these default commands for operating the aircraft. I mean, the sim can do it, but if the aircraft itself does not utilise these functions, then there’s really nothing you can do about it.

You might need to go to the official forum for that aircraft. Maybe there’s some documentation or a discussion that you can have with them.

Thanks for taking time to reply, good to know about the brakes, will try that out…unfortunately, the flaps won’t work like that, in the pit, its a single pushutton press behind the flap lever, so it activates the same button command for up as down…it needs the sim to recognise a ‘toggle’ for the flaps to allow it to work.

I have tried most of the morning looking for the rudder trim, but there is no axis that can be assigned in the games control options

1: You are looking for an on-off-on toggle
2: They didnt have separate brakes

If you use fsuipc7 you could write a simple lua function to read the existing state of the flaps then either extend or retract the flaps depending on that state with the same button.
